On the principal eigenvalues of the degenerate elliptic systems

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2020
We study some qualitative properties for the set of principal eigenvalues of a degenerate elliptic system such as strict monotonicity with respect to the domain, local isolation and monotonicity and continuity of the principal eigenvalue with respect to ...

A Proof of the Strict Monotone 5-Step Conjecture [PDF]

open access: yesDiscrete & Computational Geometry, 2019
A computer search through the oriented matroid programs with dimension 5 and 10 facets shows that the maximum strictly monotone diameter is 5. Thus $ _{sm}(5,10)=5$. This enumeration is analogous to that of Bremner and Schewe for the non-monotone diameter of 6-polytopes with 12 facets.

Can we trust the standardized mortality ratio? A formal analysis and evaluation based on axiomatic requirements.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2021
BackgroundThe standardized mortality ratio (SMR) is often used to assess and compare hospital performance. While it has been recognized that hospitals may differ in their SMRs due to differences in patient composition, there is a lack of rigorous ...

Containment for Guarded Monotone Strict NP

open access: yes, 2023
Guarded Monotone Strict NP (GMSNP) extends Monotone Monadic Strict NP (MMSNP) by guarded existentially quantified predicates of arbitrary arities. We prove that the containment problem for GMSNP is decidable, thereby settling an open question of Bienvenu, ten Cate, Lutz, and Wolter, later restated by Bourhis and Lutz.

Local monotonicity coefficients in Orlicz sequence spaces equipped with the p-Amemiya norm

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2020
In this paper, the monotonicity is investigated with respect to Orlicz sequence space l Φ , p $l_{\varPhi , p}$ equipped with the p-Amemiya norm, and the necessary and sufficient condition is obtained to guarantee the uniform monotonicity, locally ...

Uncertainty Measurement and Attribute Reduction Algorithm Based on Kernel Similarity Rough Set Model

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, 2022
Attribute reduction is the core research content in rough set theory. At present, the attribute reduction of numerical information system mostly adopts the neighborhood rough set method.
