Incidence of Urethral Stricture in Patients with Adult Acquired Buried Penis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Introduction. Concealed-buried penis is an acquired condition associated with obesity, challenging to both manage and repair. Urethral stricture is a more common disorder with multiple etiologies. Lichen sclerosus is a significant known cause of urethral

Prevalence of congenital heart defects in Europe, 2008–2015: A registry‐based study

open access: yesBirth Defects Research, Volume 114, Issue 20, Page 1404-1416, December 1, 2022., 2022
Abstract Background The total prevalence of congenital heart defects (CHDs) varies by populations and over time. Studies that examine trends in the prevalence of CHD in different regions may shed light on our understanding of the occurrence of CHD and the impact of different risk factors.

Experimental noise filtering by quantum control [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Instabilities due to extrinsic interference are routinely faced in systems engineering, and a common solution is to rely on a broad class of $\textit{filtering}$ techniques in order to afford stability to intrinsically unstable systems. For instance, electronic systems are frequently designed to incorporate electrical filters composed of, $\textit{e.g.}

Influence of Long-term Cytotoxic Chemotherapy on the Condition of Peripheral Venous Channel [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The necessity of long-term venous access in cancer patients appears at frequent and long-term courses of cytotoxic therapy. Peripheral veins of forearms are most often used for these aims. The conditions of peripheral venous channel in 32 cancer patients,

IL‐33‐Induced TREM2+ Macrophages Promote Pathological New Bone Formation Through CREG1‐IGF2R Axis in Ankylosing Spondylitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies TREM2+ macrophages as key contributors to pathological bone formation in ankylosing spondylitis (AS). These macrophages mediate pathological new bone formation via the CREG1‐IGF2R‐PI3K‐AKT pathway and are regulated by IL‐33 through STAT6 phosphorylation.

Prevalence of vascular disruption anomalies and association with young maternal age: A EUROCAT study to compare the United Kingdom with other European countries

open access: yesBirth Defects Research, Volume 114, Issue 20, Page 1417-1426, December 1, 2022., 2022
Abstract Background Younger mothers are at a greater risk of having a pregnancy with gastroschisis and the risk is higher in the United Kingdom than other European countries. Gastroschisis is thought to be a vascular disruption anomaly and the aim of this study was to analyze the prevalence of other possible vascular disruption anomalies to determine ...

Mechanical Load‐Induced Upregulation of Talin2 through Non‐Canonical Deubiquitination of OTUB1 Drives Facet Joint Osteoarthritis Pathogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Facet joint osteoarthritis (FJOA), prevalent in the elderly, involves Talin2 upregulation promoting ECM degradation while suppressing synthesis. Mechanical load stabilizes Talin2 via OTUB1‐mediated non‐canonical deubiquitination, driving CCL2 expression that recruits immune cells, exacerbating inflammatory joint degeneration.
