Strike-Slip Fault Effects on Diversity of the Ediacaran Mound-Shoal Distribution in the Central Sichuan Intracratonic Basin, China

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
The largest Precambrian gasfield in China has been found from the Ediacaran (Sinian) carbonates in the central Sichuan Basin. The deep ancient reservoirs were generally attributed to the high-energy mound-shoal body in the carbonate platform.

The Strike-Slip Fault Effects on Tight Ordovician Reef-Shoal Reservoirs in the Central Tarim Basin (NW China)

open access: yesEnergies, 2023
The largest carbonate condensate field in China has been found in the central Tarim Basin. Ordovician carbonate reservoirs are generally attributed to reef-shoal microfacies along a platform margin.

Strike-slip fault tectogenesis in formation of the East Sikhote-Alin volcano-plutonic belt: Structural and dynamic analysis

open access: yesЛитосфера, 2020
Study object. The role of strike-slip fault tectogenesis in magmatism of the large (North Eastern Primorye) fragment of the Eastern Sikhote-Alin volcano-plutonic belt (ESAVPB) is studied. Materials and methods.

Analyzing the Formation and Evolution of Strike-Slip Faults and Their Controlling Effects on Hydrocarbon Migration and Charging: A Case Study of Tahe Area, Tarim Basin

open access: yesEnergies, 2023
The Ordovician strike-slip faults system in the Tahe area of the Tarim Basin provides an important opportunity for using 3D seismic data to document the structural characteristics, formation, and evolution of strike-slip faults and their relationship ...

Deformation Styles and Multi-Stage Evolution History of a Large Intraplate Strike-Slip Fault System in a Paleozoic Superimposed Basin: A Case Study From the Tarim Basin, NW China

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science, 2022
The complex deformation styles of large intraplate strike-slip fault systems in the multi-stage superimposed basin are hot topics worldwide. This article proposes structural models and evolution processes for such strike-slip fault systems in the Tarim ...

Origin and growth mechanisms of strike-slip faults in the central Tarim cratonic basin, NW China

open access: yesPetroleum Exploration and Development, 2021
Through fault structure analysis and chronology study, we discuss the origin and growth mechanisms of strike-slip faults in the Tarim Basin. (1) Multiple stages strike-slip faults with inherited growth were developed in the central Tarim cratonic basin ...

Superimposed characteristics and genetic mechanism of strike-slip faults in the Bohai Sea, China

open access: yesPetroleum Exploration and Development, 2019
Based on the 3D seismic structure interpretation of Bohai Sea, combined with physical modeling of structure, structural style analysis and apatite fission track simulation, the structural characteristics and genetic mechanism of the Cenozoic strike-slip ...

Geomorphic signal of active faulting at the northern edge of Lut Block. Insights on the kinematic scenario of Central Iran [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Recent works documented Neogene to Quaternary dextral strike-slip tectonics along the Kuh-e-Sarhangi and Kuh-e-Faghan intraplate strike-slip faults at the northern edge of the Lut Block of Central Iran, previously thought to be dominated by sinistral ...

Study on the relationship between multi-stage strike-slip mechanism and basin evolution in Fangzheng fault depression

open access: yesEarth Sciences Research Journal, 2018
Fangzheng fault depression is controlled by the northern of the Tan-Lu fault zone. It undergoes multi-stage strike-slip, extrusion modification, and erosion of the thermal uplift, forming a tectonic pattern of uplifts connected with sags.

Intraplate strike-slip deformation belts [PDF]

open access: yesGeological Society, London, Special Publications, 2003
Abstract Intraplate strike-slip deformation belts are typically steeply-dipping structures that develop in both oceanic and continental lithosphere where they form some of the largest and most spectacular discontinuities found on Earth. In both modern and ancient continental settings, intraplate strike slip deformation belts are of major ...
