Strike-slip faulting in the Vaporum region of the Moon
Quarterly Journal of the Geological Society of London, 1964Deformed lunar ring-structures are compared with clay models carrying circular forms that are subjected to various types of stress. It is concluded that the ellipticities of the rings in the Vaporum region of the Moon were imposed not through elementary lateral squeezing but, principally, through right-handed multiple shearing movements.

Stress Accumulated Mechanisms on Strike-Slip Faults
1982The tectonic framework causing seismicity on the San Andreas and North Anatolian faults can be understood in terms of plate tectonics. However, the mechanisms responsible for the distribution of seismicity in space and time on these faults are poorly understood.
