Stochastic strike-slip fault as earthquake source model
It is known that the source of a tectonic earthquake in the framework of the theory of elasticity and viscoelasticity is considered as a displacement along a certain fault surface. Usually, when describing the source, the geometry of the fault surface is simplified to a flat rectangular area. The displacement vector is assumed to be constant.

Strike-slip deformations in the West Siberian Basin and their impact on exploration and development of oil and gas reservoirs [PDF]
Extensive 3D seismic exploration has revealed in much of the West Siberian petroliferous basin area a special type of faults and deformations within the sedimentary cover, caused by low-separation basement strike-slip faults.

Tectonic Implication of the 5th March 2005, Doublet Earthquake in Ilan, Taiwan
The 5th March 2005 earthquake doublet focal mechanism was determined as strike-slip faulting from Harvard and BATS moment tensor inversion. However, based on first motion polarities, the first shock has a normal focal mechanism (Wu et al. 2008a).

The 2012 August 11 Ahar earthquakes: consequences for tectonics and earthquake hazard in the Turkish-Iranian Plateau [PDF]
We have examined the faulting in the 2012 August 11 Mw 6.4 and 6.3 Ahar (NW Iran) earthquakes using a combination of field mapping, remote-sensing observations of tectonic geomorphology, the cross-correlation of optical satellite images and the inversion

Deep ductile shear localization facilitates near-orthogonal strike-slip faulting in a thin brittle lithosphere [PDF]
Some active fault systems comprise near-orthogonal conjugate strike-slip faults, as highlighted by the 2019 Ridgecrest and the 2012 Indian Ocean earthquake sequences.

The El Tocuyo, Venezuela, earthquake of 3 August, 1950: Focal parameters and tectonic implications [PDF]
The El Tocuyo earthquake of 1950 event was associated with the Boconó fault system. The Ms magnitude was 6.3; the focal depth was ( from pP – P and sP – P) 18 ± 1 Km.

Volcano instability induced by strike-slip faulting
Analogue sand cone experiments were conducted to study instability generated on volcanic cones by basal strike-slip movement. The results of the analogue models demonstrate that edifice instability may be generated when strike-slip faults underlying a volcano move as a result of tectonic adjustment.

Spatio-temporal evolution of intraplate strike-slip faulting: the Neogene-Quaternary Kuh-e-Faghan Fault, Central Iran [PDF]
Central Iran provides an ideal region to study the long-term morphotectonic response to the nucleation and propagation of intraplate faulting. In this study, a multidisciplinary approach that integrates structural and stratigraphic field investigations ...
