Boundary terms in string field theory
We supplement the string field theory action with boundary terms to make its variational principle well-posed. Central to our considerations is the violation of the stress-energy tensor conservation in non-compact CFTs due to the boundary terms.

Gauge and General Coordinate Invariance in Non-Polynomial Closed String Field Theory [PDF]
An appropriate field configuration in non-polynomial closed string field theory is shown to correspond to a general off-shell field configuration in low energy effective field theory.

Genus-one string amplitudes from conformal field theory
We explore and exploit the relation between non-planar correlators in N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 4 super-Yang-Mills, and higher-genus closed string amplitudes in type IIB string theory.

SYM Description of SFT Hamiltonian in a PP-Wave Background [PDF]
We compute string field theory Hamiltonian matrix elements and compare them with matrix elements of the dilatation operator in gauge theory. We get precise agreement between the string field theory and gauge theory computations once the correct cubic ...

Topological defects in open string field theory
We show how conformal field theory topological defects can relate solutions of open string field theory for different boundary conditions. To this end we generalize the results of Graham and Watts to include the action of defects on boundary condition ...

Normalization of D-instanton amplitudes
D-instanton amplitudes suffer from various infrared divergences associated with tachyonic or massless open string modes, leading to ambiguous contribution to string amplitudes.

Closed String Cohomology in Open String Field Theory
We show that closed string states in bosonic string field theory are encoded in the cyclic cohomology of cubic open string field theory (OSFT) which, in turn, classifies the deformations of OSFT.

Closed string amplitudes around tachyon vacuum solution in Kaku theory
We incorporate closed string field into Kaku’s open string field theory which is defined using Kaku vertex, and we construct open-closed string field theory.
