Magnetic Textiles: A Review of Materials, Fabrication, Properties, and Applications
Magnetic textiles (M‐textiles) are emerging as a programmable materials platform that merges magnetic matter with hierarchical textile structures. This article consolidates magnetic material classes, textile architectures, and fabrication and magnetization strategies, revealing structure–property–function relationships that govern magneto‐mechanical ...

Faster Approximate String Matching for Short Patterns
We study the classical approximate string matching problem, that is, given strings $P$ and $Q$ and an error threshold $k$, find all ending positions of substrings of $Q$ whose edit distance to $P$ is at most $k$. Let $P$ and $Q$ have lengths $m$ and $n$,

This article introduces a soft wearable eyelid sling device incorporating a hydraulic soft artificial muscle (SAM) for achieving complete closure of an eyelid. The SAM is driven by a cam mechanism that provides a displacement profile closely matched with those of a healthy eyelid.

The stringdist Package for Approximate String Matching
Comparing text strings in terms of distance functions is a common and fundamental task in many statistical text-processing applications. Thus far, string distance functionality has been somewhat scattered around R and its extension packages, leaving ...

We introduce AutomataGPT, a generative pretrained transformer (GPT) trained on synthetic spatiotemporal data from 2D cellular automata to learn symbolic rules. Demonstrating strong performance on both forward and inverse tasks, AutomataGPT establishes a scalable, domain‐agnostic framework for interpretable modeling, paving the way for future ...

We identify a Lepidoptera‐conserved testis‐specific arylalkylamine N‐acetyltransferase (LTNAT) that governs male moth fertility via a novel mechanism. LTNAT loss disrupts eupyrene sperm mitochondrial derivatives and impairs apyrene sperm motility, offering a safe molecular target for innovative pesticides and genetic pest control.

Machine Learning for Green Solvents: Assessment, Selection and Substitution
Environmental regulations have intensified demand for green solvents, but discovery is limited by Solvent Selection Guides (SSGs) that quantify solvent sustainability. Training a machine learning model on GlaxoSmithKline SSG, a database of sustainability metrics for 10,189 solvents, GreenSolventDB is developed. Integrated with Hansen solubility metrics,

A Stringy Correspondence Principle in Cosmology
We study a d-dimensional FRW universe, containing a perfect fluid with p = w \rho and \frac{1} {d - 1} \le w \le 1, and find a correspondence principle similar to that of Horowitz and Polchinski in the black hole case.

On string matching with k mismatches
In this paper we consider several variants of the pattern matching problem. In particular, we investigate the following problems: 1) Pattern matching with k mismatches; 2) Approximate counting of mismatches; and 3) Pattern matching with mismatches. The distance metric used is the Hamming distance.
