Proton Stability and Light $Z^\prime$ Inspired by String Derived Models

open access: yes, 2011
Proton stability is one of the most perplexing puzzles in particle physics. While the renormalizable Standard Model forbids proton decay mediating operators due to accidental global symmetries, many of its extensions introduce such dimension four, five ...

Harnessing Non‐Covalent Protein–Protein Interaction Domains for Production of Biocatalytic Materials Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Non‐covalent protein–protein interactions mediated by SH3, PDZ, or GBD domains enable the self‐assembly of stable and biocatalytically active hydrogel materials. These soft materials can be processed into monodisperse foams that, once dried, exhibit enhanced mechanical stability and activity and are easily integrated into microstructured flow ...

The Kerr-Schild double copy in curved spacetime

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
The double copy is a much-studied relationship between scattering amplitudes in gauge and gravity theories, that has subsequently been extended to classical field solutions.

New supersymmetric $$AdS_5$$ A d S 5 black strings from 5D $$N=4$$ N = 4 gauged supergravity

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2023
We find a large class of new supersymmetric $$AdS_5$$ A d S 5 black strings from five-dimensional $$N=4$$ N = 4 gauged supergravity coupled to five vector multiplets with $$SO(2)_D\times SO(3)\times SO(3)$$ S O ( 2 ) D × S O ( 3 ) × S O ( 3 ) gauge group.

The Spatial String Tension in the Deconfined Phase of SU(N) Gauge Theory and Gauge/String Duality

open access: yes, 2007
The spatial string tension of a SU(N) gauge theory without quarks is calculated using gauge/string duality for 1 ...

Lorentz violation, two-time physics, and strings [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Letters A, 2011
We study a recently proposed generalization of the relativistic particle by Kosteleck , that includes explicit Lorentz violation. We present an alternative action for this system and we show that this action can be interpreted as a particle in curved space with a metric that depends on the Lagrange multipliers.

Engineered Interface and Spatial Arrangement of Inorganic Components for Dendrite‐Free Li Anodes in Carbonate‐Based Electrolyte

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A solid‐state ion exchange strategy constructs dentrimental Li2CO3 into a high‐modulus, high‐surface‐energy interface to enable dendrite‐free deposition of Li metal anode in the harsh carbonate‐based electrolyte. Abstract The practical application of lithium metal batteries (LMBs) in carbonate‐based electrolytes is hindered by uncontrolled lithium (Li)

On next-to-leading power threshold corrections in Drell-Yan production at N3LO

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
The cross-section for Drell-Yan production of a vector boson has been previously calculated at next-to-next-to-leading order, supplemented by enhanced logarithmic terms associated with the threshold region.

String-Dominated Cosmology

open access: yes, 1993
If string theory controls physics at the string scale, the dynamics of the early universe before the GUT era will be governed by the low-energy string equations of motion. Studying these equations for FRW spacetimes, we find that depending on the initial

Multiband Switchable Microwave Absorbing Metamaterials Based on Reconfigurable Kirigami–Origami

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A reconfigurable metamaterial featuring tunable microwave‐absorbing and load‐bearing performance is proposed. Stretchable kirigami and bistable origami configurations are integrated as actuating components, and the synergistic deformation mechanisms are systematically analyzed.
