Novel Cyano‐Artemisinin Dimer ZQJ29 Targets PARP1 to Induce Ferroptosis in Pancreatic Cancer Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel artemisinin derivative dimer has been synthesized, and its significant potential as an anti‐cancer agent. The study indicated that ZQJ29 effectively inhibited the proliferation of pancreatic cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. Additionally, these investigations have unveiled ZQJ29 as a new potent PARP1 inhibitor, with the capability to induce ...

Real‐Time Self‐Optimization of Quantum Dot Laser Emissions During Machine Learning‐Assisted Epitaxy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work presents a machine learning‐driven approach integrated with in situ high‐energy electron diffraction (RHEED) monitoring to automate the optimization of quantum dot (QD) growth for lasers. A 3.2‐fold increase in photoluminescence intensity is achieved alongside a narrow spectral linewidth.

Supersymmetric AdS$$_2\times \Sigma _2$$ 2×Σ2 solutions from tri-sasakian truncation

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2017
A class of $$\mathrm{AdS}_2\times \Sigma _2$$ AdS2×Σ2 , with $$\Sigma _2$$ Σ2 being a two-sphere or a hyperbolic space, solutions within four-dimensional $$N=4$$ N=4 gauged supergravity coupled to three-vector multiplets with dyonic gauging is identified.

String Theory and Particle Physics

open access: yes, 2019
In this next to last chapter of part II of this book, we finally consider how to obtain particle physics from string theory. Indeed, string theory is supposed to describe the real world, and since moreover we want to describe cosmology, we need to check whether what we obtain is consistent with the particle physics that we know, i.e., the Standard ...

LIMK1 as a Novel Kinase of β‐Catenin Promotes Esophageal Cancer Metastasis by Cooperating With CDK5

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Li et al. innovatively map the kinase‐substrate network in esophageal cancer metastasis. Their study demonstrates that LIM domain kinase 1 (LIMK1) and Cyclin‐dependent kinase 5 (CDK5) synergistically increase the phosphorylation of β‐catenin, thereby activating the Wnt/β‐catenin signaling pathway to promote esophageal cancer metastasis.

Locality in quantum gravity and string theory

open access: yes, 2006
Breakdown of local physics in string theory at distances longer than the string scale is investigated. Such nonlocality would be expected to be visible in ultrahigh-energy scattering. The results of various approaches to such scattering are collected and

Overcoming the Damping–Elasticity Paradox via 3D‐Printed NiTiSn Nanocomposite

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Here a 3D‐printed nanoeutectic alloy is designed to exhibit a record‐breaking combination of exceptional damping capacity (tanδ > 0.10) and elastic strain exceeding 4.5% at a high stress ≈1500 MPa, overcoming the damping‐elasticity paradox in high damping alloys.
