Remote Silyl Groups Enhance Hydrolytic Stability and Photocleavage Efficiency in Carbamates for Protein Release

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Accepted Article.
Photocleavable molecules are valuable tools for biological studies, enabling spatiotemporal activation of molecular functions within cellular environments. In particular, coumarin‐based photolytic molecules are useful because of their ability to flexibly tune the wavelength of photostimulation through their structural modifications.

Bridging Social Innovation with Forest and Landscape Restoration

open access: yesEnvironmental Policy and Governance, Volume 32, Issue 6, Page 520-531, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Mitigating climate change, preventing mass species extinctions, improving rural livelihoods, and disaster risk reduction are among today's most urgent challenges. To meet these challenges, a large number of social actors need to agree to engage and act collectively on Forest and Landscape Restoration (FLR), ensuring its dual goal of restoring ...

Structural Insight into a Human H Ferritin@Gold‐Monocarbene Adduct: Aurophilicity Revealed in a Biological Context

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Accepted Article.
Human H ferritin (HuHf) has excellent potential as a nanocarrier for the selective delivery of anticancer metal‐based drugs to tumour cells. Here, we addressed the interaction of the gold monocarbene compound Au(NHC)Cl with HuHf by electrospray ionization‐mass spectrometry (ESI‐MS) measurements, which provide the metalation state of the protein ...

A low‐cost protocol for the optical method of vulnerability curves to calculate P50

open access: yesApplications in Plant Sciences, EarlyView.
Abstract Premise The quantification of plant drought resistance, particularly embolism formation, within and across species, is critical for ecosystem management and agriculture. We developed a cost‐effective protocol to measure the water potential at which 50% of hydraulic conductivity (P50) is lost in stems, using affordable and accessible materials ...
