In the large top-mass limit, Higgs plus multi-gluon amplitudes in QCD can be computed using an effective field theory. This approach turns the computation of such amplitudes into that of form factors of operators of increasing classical dimension.

D3-brane loop amplitudes from M5-brane tree amplitudes
We study loop corrections to scattering amplitudes in the world-volume theory of a probe D3-brane, which is described by the supersymmetric Dirac-Born-Infeld theory.

The subleading eikonal in supergravity theories
In this paper we study the subleading contributions to eikonal scattering in (super)gravity theories with particular emphasis on the role of both elastic and inelastic scattering processes.

The double copy relates scattering amplitudes and classical solutions in Yang-Mills theory, gravity, and related field theories. Previous work has shown that this has an explicit realisation in self-dual YM theory, where the equation of motion can be ...

Unified model for vortex-string network evolution
We describe and numerically test the velocity-dependent one-scale (VOS) string evolution model, a simple analytic approach describing a string network with the averaged correlation length and velocity.

Chiral symmetry restoration and the string picture of hadrons [PDF]
QCD string picture of highly excited hadrons very naturally explains parity doubling once the chiral symmetry is restored high in the spectrum. In particular, the spin-orbit and tensor interactions of quarks at the ends of the string, related to dynamics

We construct a new class of smooth horizonless microstate geometries of the supersymmetric D1-D5-P black hole in type IIB supergravity. We first work in the AdS3 × S 3 decoupling limit and use the fermionic symmetries of the theory to generate new ...

On higher-derivative effects on the gravitational potential and particle bending
Using modern amplitude techniques we compute the leading classical and quantum corrections to the gravitational potential between two massive scalars induced by adding cubic terms to Einstein gravity.

Noncommutative Field Theories and (Super)String Field Theories
In this lecture notes we explain and discuss some ideas concerning noncommutative geometry in general, as well as noncommutative field theories and string field theories.

Collective physics in the closed bosonic string [PDF]
A second-quantized analysis is performed to examine many-body phenomena in closed bosonic strings. The covariant nonpolynomial closed-string field theory is developed in terms of particle fields and shown to contain interactions triggering a nonperturbative condensation of the tachyon field.
