Creating Ti–Fe α/β Alloys by Diffusion‐Driven Solid‐State Processing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 17, 9 September 2026.
This study proposes making alloys containing fast diffusing elements that are difficult to produce by ingot metallurgy, by diffusion‐driven solid‐state HIP processing of elemental powders and low‐temperature homogenisation. Here, novel Fe‐Ti α–β alloys are formed having fine α–β lamellae, a small β prior grain size without significant intermetallics ...

Impact of Electrolyte Formulation on the Phase Behavior and Interphase Formation of Sb/Graphite Electrodes for K‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 50, 7 September 2026.
Electrolyte formulation is shown to govern both interphase chemistry and bulk phase evolution in Sb/graphite anodes for potassium‐ion batteries. A diglyme‐based localized high‐concentration electrolyte promotes a thin inorganic‐rich interphase, suppresses deep graphite potassiation, limits electrode swelling, and stabilizes amorphous KxSb formation ...

Tillage does not impact soil greenhouse gas emissions in a Central Texas rainfed maize–cotton system

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences &Environment, Volume 9, Issue 3, September 2026.
Abstract Agricultural soils are a significant source of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, primarily as N2O. Monitoring how management practices impact soil gas fluxes (CO2, CH4, and N2O) is useful for making sure conservation practices (e.g., no‐till) are sustainable with regards to all potential environmental impacts.

Spatial optimization to support economically driven decision making for early‐season stand challenges in corn

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences &Environment, Volume 9, Issue 3, September 2026.
Abstract Producers have an interest in mitigating yield and profit penalties associated with stand loss. When damage occurs early in the growing season, producers may opt to replant corn (Zea mays L.) to recoup potential yield losses. Likewise, producers could opt against replanting and accept the loss.

Soil biological health and yield outcomes from integrating conservation agricultural practices in a corn–soybean system are dependent on environment

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences &Environment, Volume 9, Issue 3, September 2026.
Abstract Research examining the integration of conservation agricultural practices and their medium‐term effects on crop productivity and soil health remain limited within the corn (Zea mays L.)—soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] system of northern US.

Biostimulants‐driven improvements in productivity, resource use efficiency and protein yield in pea–barley intercrops

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences &Environment, Volume 9, Issue 3, September 2026.
Abstract Biostimulants promote plant growth, nutrient uptake, and drought tolerance, reducing reliance on synthetic fertilizers. Intercropping, involving multiple crop species on the same land, is a promising practice. In Denmark, pea (Pisum sativum)–barley (Hordeum vulgare) intercrop (PBIC) is commonly used for grain and fodder production.
