Shallow Strip Tillage in Seedbed Preparation

Transactions of the ASAE, 1966
Numerous tests on both field and vegetable crops by agronomists at The University of Arizona during 1962 and 1963 demonstrated the effectiveness of petroleum stripmulches in improving early season germination and emergence. Early season stands often result in increased yields because of a lengthened growing season.

Development of Strip Tillage on Sprinkler Irrigated Sugarbeet

Applied Engineering in Agriculture, 2009
A project to evaluate new technologies for strip tillage of small seeded crops was initiated in fall 2003 near Sidney, Montana, for sprinkler irrigated sugarbeet (Beta vulgaris L.) to be grown in 2004. Strip till treatments were compared to conventional grower tillage practices in fifty-six 15- × 25-m (48- × 80-ft) side-by-side plots.

Strip Tillage on Sprinkler Irrigated Sugar Beet

2006 Portland, Oregon, July 9-12, 2006, 2006
The results of the first 2 years of a four year strip tillage study on sprinkler irrigated sugarbeets (Beta vulgaris L.) are presented. The project was initiated in fall 2003 near Sidney, Montana for sugarbeets to be grown in 2004. Treatments were compared to conventional grower practices in fifty six 15 m X 25 m (48 ft by 80 ft) side-by-side plots.

Strip-Tillage Production Systems for Tobacco

2014
Conservation tillage production systems for flue-cured tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.) have been studied for many years. Inadequate chemical weed control and lack of acceptable pesticide and fertilizer application resulted in consistently lower yields and inferior cured leaf quality.

Strip Tillage Implements for Single and Twin Row Peanut

Agronomy Journal, 2018
Core Ideas Grower interest in conservation tillage and cover crops remains high for peanut.Twin rows improved yields and peanut grade compared to single rows.Peanut performance did not vary across strip tillage implements.Twin rows with strip tillage and a cover crop is a productive option for peanut.

Computer-Aided Development of Rotary Blades for Strip-Tillage

Journal of Agricultural Engineering (India), 2007
Rotary blades in strip-tillage practice are used to achieve advantages of lower draft requirement, better soil breakup and more efficient inversion and trash mixing. The study was aimed at development of three types of rotary blades for strip-tillage (namely, C-type, L-type, and RC-type) in order to reduce the energy requirement for tillage by ...

Strip tillage and sowing: is precision planting indispensable in silage maize?

2016
This work was aimed at assessing whether in silage maize it is possible to replace precisionplanting with a volumetric seeding in the perspective of developing hybrid machines to strip tilland sow both high density crops like winter cereals and low density crops like maize.
