Fisheries Management and Ecology, EarlyView.ABSTRACT This article presents an analysis of regulatory compliance in a Brazilian gillnet fishery, based on Vessel Monitoring System (VMS) tracking data. Satellite transmissions records, interpreted as proxies for gillnet haulings events, were analyzed and classified using a neural network to assess the level of compliance of the gillnet fleet.

Diseases of Aquatic Organisms, 2019 An unusual mortality event (UME) of striped dolphins Stenella coeruleoalba occurred in the period July to December 2016 along the Italian Ionian coastline. We conducted a complete postmortem examination on 28 specimens and detected dolphin morbillivirus (DMV), by means of biomolecular analyses, in the target tissues of 17 animals.
