Strong Ground Motion during the 8 September 2021 (Mw7.0) Acapulco Earthquake: Rupture Directivity and its Effect on Simulated Motions in Mexico City from Postulated Mw 7.5 – 8.0 Earthquakes

open access: yesGeofísica Internacional
The 8 September 2021, Mw7.0, earthquake occurred in the SE Guerrero seismic gap along the Mexican subduction zone, just below Acapulco. The earthquake was strongly felt in Acapulco with peak ground acceleration (PGA) exceeding 0.6 g at some sites.

Stochastic ground motion simulation of the 2016 Meinong, Taiwan earthquake

open access: yesEarth, Planets and Space, 2017
We applied a stochastic method for the finite-fault modeling of strong ground motions to the 2016 Meinong, Taiwan earthquake. Newly developed attenuation models in Southern Taiwan with the frequency-dependent Q = 86.4f 0.73 and the high-frequency decay ...

Surface motion of a semi-elliptical alluvial valley for incident plane SH waves [PDF]

open access: yes, 1974
By using the exact analytical solution for the two-dimensional SH-wave propagation in and around an elastic inclusion whose cross section corresponds to one half of an ellipse, we have examined those aspects of the resulting ground motion that are of ...

Diffusion Spectrum Imaging Maps Early Axonal Loss and a Unique Progressive Signal in Neuronal Intranuclear Inclusion Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To delineate specific in vivo white matter pathology in neuronal intranuclear inclusion disease (NIID) using diffusion spectrum imaging (DSI) and define its clinical relevance. Methods DSI was performed on 42 NIID patients and 38 matched controls.

Nonstationary Stochastic Simulation of Strong Ground-Motion Time Histories : Application to the Japanese Database [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
For earthquake-resistant design, engineering seismologists employ time-history analysis for nonlinear simulations. The nonstationary stochastic method previously developed by Pousse et al. (2006) has been updated.

Fluid Biomarkers of Disease Burden and Cognitive Dysfunction in Progressive Supranuclear Palsy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Identifying objective biomarkers for progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) is crucial to improving diagnosis and establishing clinical trial and treatment endpoints. This study evaluated fluid biomarkers in PSP versus controls and their associations with regional 18F‐PI‐2620 tau‐PET, clinical, and cognitive outcomes.

Did a Non‐Medical Biosimilar Switching Policy Cause an Increase in Non‐Biologic/Biosimilar Health Care Resource Utilization or Cost in Patients With Inflammatory Arthritis?

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective This study aimed to evaluate the impact of a series of policies that mandated switching patients with inflammatory arthritis (IA) from an originator biologic to a biosimilar in British Columbia, Canada, on health care resource use and cost.
