Re: Using Space-Based Investigations to Inform Cancer Research on Earth
In the Universe, four main forces are effective. These are weak nuclear force, strong nuclear force, electromagnetic force and gravitational force. Gravity is the attractive force between all matter.

In the tritium breeding blanket of nuclear fusion reactors, the heat transfer behavior and thermal-mechanical response of the tritium breeder pebble bed are affected by the inner packing structure, which is crucial for the design and optimization of a ...

Neutron Fermi liquids under the presence of a strong magnetic field with effective nuclear forces [PDF]
Landau's Fermi Liquid parameters are calculated for non-superfluid pure neutron matter in the presence of a strong magnetic field at zero temperature. The particle-hole interactions in the system, where a net magnetization may be present, are characterized by these parameters in the framework of a multipolar formalism.

Arms Control Dialogue is Japan’s Interest: An Agenda for a New Nuclear Posture Review
In debates on the Biden administration’s Nuclear Posture Review (NPR), the issue that has attracted the most attention in Japan is whether or not the declaratory policy of “no first use” or “sole purpose” of nuclear weapons will be adopted.

Kap-Centric control of nuclear pores based on promiscuous binding to FG nucleoporins [PDF]
Nuclear pore complexes (NPCs) are remarkable molecular machines that perforate the nuclear envelope (NE) in eukaryotic cells and mediate the rapid bidirectional traffic of hundreds of proteins, ribonucleoproteins, and metabolites across the nuclear ...

Recent Developments in and Applications of the Relativistic Chiral Nuclear Force
The nuclear force is central to our understanding of complex nuclear phenomena and to the applications of nuclear techniques. The non-perturbative nature of low-energy strong interaction and color confinement have provided an ab initio understanding of ...

Magnetic field causes the strong and weak nuclear forces and is the GUT force
The Scalar Theory of Everything (STOE) suggests the four fundamental forces are emergent properties of the magnetic field of permanent magnets. The STOE postulates the fractal (self--similar) principle that suggests small size scales are similar to our everyday size scale.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

The NPT at Fifty: Successes and Failures
The NPT succeeded in its initial task of preventing the proliferation of nuclear weapons to the potential proliferators considered likely at the time of its entry into force in 1970.
