Global daily surface solar radiation model for temperate regions considering cloud and terrain effects in Google Earth Engine

open access: yesCleaner Engineering and Technology
Accurate simulation of surface solar radiation (SSR) remains challenging in regions with sparse observations and complex terrain. This study proposed a meteorologically driven semi-empirical model (Semi-Model) for daily SSR estimation in temperate ...

Diffusion Phenomena in Gels

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2015
The formulation and solution of fundamental problems of the study of transport phenomena in micro-and nano-porous gels are considered. To study the diffusion in the gels the optical methods are used.

An Artificial Chameleon Skin for Dynamic Thermoregulation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, 2023
Solar radiation is the major energy source for most living creatures, and some creatures change their skin colors responding to energy demands. Inspired by the chameleons that live in the desert of Namibia, which can regulate body temperature by changing

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

A Method of Measuring Temperature Changes Casued by Strong Shock Phenomena [PDF]

open access: yes, 1961
This thesis is concerned with the development of a method to measure the temperature of a metal surface during a time interval of a few microseconds while it is being subjected to a strong shock.

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Extraction and Discrimination of MBT Anomalies Possibly Associated with the Mw 7.3 Maduo (Qinghai, China) Earthquake on 21 May 2021

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2021
Earthquakes are one of the most threatening natural disasters to human beings, and pre- and post-earthquake microwave brightness temperature (MBT) anomalies have attracted increasing attention from geosciences as well as remote sensing communities ...

A model grid for the reflected light from transition disks

open access: yes, 2022
The dust in protoplanetary disks is an important ingredient in planet formation and can be investigated with model simulations and quantitative imaging polarimetry of the scattered stellar light.

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Pyrometric Method of Temperature Measurement with Compensation for Solar Radiation

open access: yes, 2010
Pyrometric Method of Temperature Measurement with Compensation for Solar RadiationOutdoor remote temperature measurements in the infrared range can be very inaccurate because of the influence of solar radiation reflected from a measured object.
