Secretory Phospholipase A2 in Patients With Sickle Cell Disease Hospitalized for Vaso‐Occlusive Pain Episodes

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Secretory phospholipase A2 (sPLA2) is an inflammatory mediator linked to acute chest syndrome (ACS) in sickle cell disease (SCD), a serious complication that can develop during an acute vaso‐occlusive pain episode (VOE). Plasma sPLA2 levels have been proposed as a potential biomarker for predicting ACS onset.

Existence and uniqueness of strong solutions to nonlinear nonlocal functional differential equations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2004
In the present work we consider a nonlinear nonlocal functional differential equations in a real reflexive Banach space. We apply the method of lines to establish the existence and uniqueness of a strong solution.

A Blow-Up Criterion for 3D Compressible Isentropic Magnetohydrodynamic Equations with Vacuum

open access: yesMathematics
In this paper, we investigate a blow-up criterion for compressible magnetohydrodynamic equations. It is shown that if density and velocity satisfy (∥ρ∥L∞(0,T;L∞)+∥u∥C([0,T];L3)

Impact of Japan's 2024 Physician Work‐Style Reform on Pediatric Hematology–Oncology: Educational Implications in a 2‐Year Survey

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Japan's 2024 physician work‐style reform introduced legally binding limits on physicians’ working hours, but its impact on education and workforce sustainability in pediatric hematology–oncology (PHO) remains unclear. Procedure We conducted a repeated cross‐sectional study with structured quantitative items and free‐text responses ...

A Bibliometric Analysis of Publications in Uremic Toxins From 1991 to 2024

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Uremic toxins are a growing area of research in nephrology, with significant implications in the progression and treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and the management of end‐stage kidney disease (ESKD). This bibliometric analysis aims to evaluate the global research trends, key contributors, and the impact of publications in ...

ON WELL-POSEDNESS OF STEADY PROBLEM FOR MIXTURE OF COMPRESSIBLE VISCOUS FLUIDS FLOW AROUND AN OBSTACLE

open access: yesВестник Кемеровского государственного университета, 2014
The inhomogeneous boundary value problems for equations of mixture of compressible viscous fluids steady flow around an obstacle are considered. Existence and uniqueness of strong solution for such problem is proved.

Therapeutic Apheresis in Nigeria: A Multi‐Center Summary of Abstracts From the Inaugural Nigerian Society for Apheresis Scientific Meeting

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Therapeutic apheresis (TA) is an established treatment modality for hematologic, neurologic, and immunologic disorders, yet access remains severely limited in sub‐Saharan Africa. Donor apheresis, including platelet apheresis collection from healthy donors, represents an important complementary modality supporting blood product ...

A nonlocal mixed semilinear problem for second-order hyperbolic equations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2003
In this work we study a nonlinear hyperbolic one-dimensional problem with a nonlocal condition. We establish a blow up result for large initial data and a decay result for small initial data.

Local and global solvability for the Boussinesq system in Besov spaces

open access: yesOpen Mathematics
This article focuses on local and global existence and uniqueness for the strong solution to the Boussinesq system in Rn{{\mathbb{R}}}^{n} (n≥3n\ge 3) with full viscosity in Besov spaces.
