Perturbation theory for strongly interacting atomic systems

Physical Review A, 1990
The strong-potential Born approximation has been formulated to include effects of elastic scattering in initial and final states. We use the standard distorted-wave theory and the eikonal approximation to derive closed-form expressions for scattering wave functions.

Meson decay of strongly interacting systems

Il Nuovo Cimento A, 1966
The decays of strongly interacting systems with the quantum numbersJP=1− andC=−1 into pseudoscalar mesons are discussed. The3S1\(\bar pp\) system at rest is within this category and predicted branching ratios for its annihilation are presented. The related processes of KN*→Kππ and1S0\(\bar pp\) annihilation are discussed.

Master equation for strongly interacting systems

Journal of Physics A: Mathematical, Nuclear and General, 1973
A dissipating system consisting of two strongly interacting subsystems, each coupled to its respective thermal reservoir is considered. The usual method for obtaining a master equation for the reduced density operator of such a system is to assume the factorization of this density operator in the derivation of the irreversible term, retaining the ...

The Astrophysics of Strongly Interacting Systems

2016
This thesis presents investigations in four areas of theoretical astrophysics: the production of sterile neutrino dark matter in the early Universe, the evolution of small-scale baryon perturbations during the epoch of cosmological recombination, the effect of primordial magnetic fields on the redshifted 21-cm emission from the pre-reionization era ...

The Dynamic Susceptibility of Strongly Interacting Systems

1983
We have just seen that in nonferromagnetic metals the presence of interactions leads to magnetic excitations of a wavelike nature called spin waves. In this chapter we shall investigate these excitations in magnetically ordered systems.

Possible Superfluidity of a System of Strongly Interacting Fermions

Physical Review, 1959
The possible superfluidity of a system interacting fermions in investigated on the assumption that an adequate description of the system in its normal'' state is griven by independent fermions in a momentum-dependent potential. On the basis of this assumption we have investigated whether a correlated wave function of the form used by Bardeen, Cooper ...

Extension of the Hartree method to strongly interacting systems

Annals of Physics, 1958
Abstract A trial solution constructed from two-body functions is applied to a variational treatment of the many-body problem with strong forces. The expectation value of the energy for Bose systems is expressed as a series of cluster integrals, which are evaluated and partially summed by techniques resembling those developed for the treatment of the ...

Effective field theories for strongly interacting systems

Nuclear Physics A, 2001
Basic ideas underlying the application of effective field theories to strong interactions are discussed, and some of their consequences to few-nucleon systems are sketched.
