Strongly-coupled quantum critical point in an all-in-all-out antiferromagnet
The critical behavior of a continuous phase transition is determined by both symmetry and dimensionality. Wang et al. present evidence that the cubic all-in-all-out spin order in Cd2Os2O7 leads to a realization of a non-mean-field strongly-coupled ...

Semigroups generated by first order differential operators
The differentiation operator in a space of continuous or $L^p$ functions defined on an interval generates a translation semigroup. Here we illustrate the generalization of this result to general first-order operators, possibly singular.

A method for designing flow-through chromatography processes [PDF]
Continuous manufacturing is expected to increase the productivity of the production of biologics such as protein drugs. However, it is not easy to build the continuous process especially for downstream processing as many unit operations (chromatography ...

Fractional Gradient Methods via ψ-Hilfer Derivative
Motivated by the increase in practical applications of fractional calculus, we study the classical gradient method under the perspective of the ψ-Hilfer derivative.

On strongly ?-e-continuous functions
A new class of generalized open sets in a topological space, called e-open sets, is introduced and some properties are obtained by Ekici [6]. This class is contained in the class of ?-semi-preopen (or ?-ß-open) sets and weaker than both ?-semiopen sets ...

On distributions of order statistics for absolutely continuous copulas with applications to reliability [PDF]
summary:Performance of coherent reliability systems is strongly connected with distributions of order statistics of failure times of components. A crucial assumption here is that the distributions of possibly mutually dependent lifetimes of components ...

Evidence and Ideology in Macroeconomics: The Case of Investment Cycles [PDF]
The paper reports the principal findings of a long term research project on the description and explanation of business cycles. The research strongly confirmed the older view that business cycles have large systematic components that take the form of ...

A second-order impulsive Cauchy problem
We study the existence of mild and classical solutions for an abstract second-order impulsive Cauchy problem modeled in the form u¨(t)=A u(t)+f(t,u(t),u˙(t)),t∈(−T0,T1),t≠ti;u(0)=x0,u˙(0)=y0; △u(ti)=Ii1 (u (ti)).

A family of high-order accurate contour integral methods for strongly continuous semigroups
Exponential integrators based on contour integral representations lead to powerful numerical solvers for a variety of ODEs, PDEs, and other time-evolution equations. They are embarrassingly parallelizable and lead to global-in-time approximations that can be efficiently evaluated anywhere within a finite time horizon.
