Parasitology Research, 2011
Analysis of the influence of horse-keeping conditions by contamination of the environment (pastures, paddocks, and stalls) by the strongylid infective larvae (L(3)) was carried out at various types of horse farms, hippodromes, and riding clubs in Ukraine.

Veterinary Parasitology: Regional Studies and Reports
Strongylida parasitizes goats and sheep; increasing resistance to anthelmintics demands species characterization. This study aims to identify Strongylida of goats and sheep in northeastern Brazil, assessing genetic diversity. Seventeen specimens of Ovis aries and 25 of Capra hircus were studied; DNA was obtained from eggs shed in ruminants' feces.

Animal Health Research Reviews, 2004
AbstractMany bursate nematodes are of major importance to animal health. Animals are often parasitized by multiple species that differ in their prevalence, relative abundance and/or pathogenicity. Implementation of effective management strategies for these parasites requires reliable methods for their detection in hosts, identification to the species ...

Objectives Donkeys and horses share several internal parasites including the nematodes Strongylidae, subfamilies Strongylinae and Cyathostominae (also known as large and small strongyles, respectively). Fenbendazole (FBZ), a compound of benzimidazoles family, has a wide range of endoparasitic activity in many species and high margin of safety.
