Heat-to-Electricity Conversion Using Barium Strontium Titanate Multilayer Capacitors. [PDF]
Lead‐free barium strontium titanate multilayer capacitors convert waste heat into electricity via the Olsen electro‐thermodynamic cycle. These capacitors achieve an energy density of 3.7 J cm−3, comparable to the performance of lead‐based ceramics. Their high dielectric strength and broad operating temperature window below 100°C make them practical for

Silicone breast implants are presented as a model system for understanding polymer permeation in vivo. Rather than representing material failure, “gel bleed” emerges from solution–diffusion transport‐mediated. By integrating polymer architecture, physicochemical transport, and biointerfacial processes, this review provides a unified framework that ...

Ecological Dose Modeling of Aquatic and Riparian Receptors to Strontium-90 with an Emphasis on Radiosensitive Organs [PDF]
The 100-NR-2 site is the location of elevated releases of strontium-90 to the Columbia River via contaminated groundwater. The resulting dose to aquatic and riparian receptors was evaluated in 2005 (DOE 2009) and compared to U.S.

Phase Engineering of Atomically Precise Nanoclusters (APNCs) of Gold and Beyond
Engineering the structural phase of materials is of paramount importance for both fundamental research and practical applications. In this Review, we summarize the recent progress in controlling the phases of atomically precise nanoclusters (APNCs) of gold, silver and copper, as well as bimetallic systems. The phase‐enabled material properties of APNCs

A Rapid Method for Measuring Strontium-90 Activity in Crops in China
A rapid method for measuring Sr-90 activity in crop ashes is presented. Liquid scintillation counting, combined with ion exchange columns 4‘, 4“(5“)-di-t-butylcyclohexane-18-crown-6, is used to determine the activity of Sr-90 in crops.
