Novel Strontium Carbides Under Compression [PDF]
Exploring the chemistry of materials at high pressures has lead to the discovery of previously unknown exotic compounds. Here, we systematically search for all thermodynamically stable Sr-C compounds under pressure (up to 100 GPa) using the ab initio evolutionary crystal structure prediction method.

This study explores the development of sol–gel coatings for archaeological glass conservation. By formulating silica‐based solutions with low acid concentrations and applying them via dip coating, protective films are prepared at room temperature. Analysis reveals that hybrid coatings with methyl and octyl groups provide superior protection against ...

Strontium isotope stratigraphy: LOWESS version 3: best fit to the marine Sr-isotope curve for 0-509 Ma and accompanying look-up table for deriving numerical age [PDF]
An improved and updated version of the statistical LOWESS fit to the marine 87Sr/86Sr record and a revised look-up table (V3:10/99; available from j.mcarthur@ucl.ac.uk) based upon it enables straightforward conversion of 87Sr/86Sr to numerical age, and ...

Self‐Supporting Graphene Foam for the Removal of Chlorine from Water
Graphene‐based porous materials are promising for sorption and catalysis but often require binders. This study presents a self‐supporting graphene foam made from graphene oxide and hydrazine vapor. Structural, mechanical, and functional analyses confirm its superior chlorine removal efficiency (97%) and reusability, outperforming activated carbon in ...

Surface Properties of p‐GaN and Formation of Nickel Metal Contacts
The amount of C, O, and Mg–O bonds on the surface of p‐GaN can be reduced while still maintaining the surface morphology by potassium hydroxide (KOH) wet chemical treatment. Heating this surface with Ni on top in ultra‐high vacuum (UHV) results in a crystalline Ga‐Ni alloy and diffusion of Ga, which creates vacancies close to valence band leading to ...

A Strontium-rich Ultra Metal-poor Star in the Atari Disk Component [PDF]
We report on the discovery of the first ultra metal-poor (UMP) star 2MASS~J20500194$-$6613298 (J2050$-$6613; \mbox{[Fe/H] = $-4.05$}) selected from the Gaia BP/RP spectral catalog that belongs to the ancient Atari disk component. We obtained a high-resolution spectrum for the star with the MIKE spectrograph on the Magellan-Clay telescope.

Solution‐Processable Polymer Nanocomposites for Electromagnetic Interference Shielding
This review introduces scalable strategies for fabricating solution‐processable polymer nanocomposites with improved electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding performance. It compares three fabrication methods, including solution blending, in situ polymerization, and Pickering emulsion polymerization, and highlights their respective advantages in ...
