Metallogenic regularity of strontium-rich drinking natural mineral water in Devonian carbonate area in southern Hunan: Taking strontium-rich drinking mineral water in Xinxu town, Xintian county as an example

open access: yesCarsologica Sinica, 2022
The study area is located in Xinxu, Xintian county, the middle of southern Hunan, in which Devonian carbonate rocks are widely distributed in the south of N26°30'.

Strontium carbonate in glazes from the SiO2–Al2O3–CaO–MgO–Na2O–K2O system, sintering and surface properties

open access: yesOpen Ceramics, 2022
In this study, the influence of the addition of SrO on sintering and selected parameters of the surface of the glazes from the SiO2–Al2O3–CaO–MgO–Na2O–K2O system were examined.

Carbon and Strontium Abundances of Metal‐poor Stars [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2007
We present carbon and strontium abundances for 100 metal-poor stars measured from R$\sim $7000 spectra obtained with the Echellette Spectrograph and Imager at the Keck Observatory. Using spectral synthesis of the G-band region, we have derived carbon abundances for stars ranging from [Fe/H]$=-1.3$ to [Fe/H]$=-3.8$.

Toxicological response and bioaccumulation of strontium in Festuca rubra L. (red fescue) and Trifolium pratense L. (red clover) in contaminated soil microcosms

open access: yesEnvironmental Systems Research, 2023
Potentially toxic elements (PTE) from industrial activities remain a global concern for their environmental hazards. In particular, strontium is found in drinking water and food, primarily from contamination from the nuclear industry, petroleum ...

Surface complexation model for strontium sorption to amorphous silica and goethite

open access: yesGeochemical Transactions, 2008
Strontium sorption to amorphous silica and goethite was measured as a function of pH and dissolved strontium and carbonate concentrations at 25°C. Strontium sorption gradually increases from 0 to 100% from pH 6 to 10 for both phases and requires multiple

Microbial formation of crystalline strontium carbonate [PDF]

open access: yesFEMS Microbiology Letters, 1994
Pseudomonas fluorescens appeared to grow in a mineral medium containing strontium (5 mM) complexed to citrate, the sole source of carbon, without any evident inhibition in cellular yield. Atomic absorption studies showed that the divalent metal was excluded from the cytoplasmic component and was initially found in the supernatant fluid in soluble form ...

Kinetics of conversion of celestite to strontium carbonate in solutions containing carbonate, bicarbonate and ammonium ions and dissolved ammonia [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2014
Celestite concentrate (SrSO4) has been converted to SrCO3 in solutions containing CO32-, HCO3- and NH4+ ions and dissolved ammonia. The effects of stirring speed, CO32- ion concentration; temperature and particle size of SrSO4 on the reaction ...

Preparation of strontium hexaferrite magnets from celestite and blue dust by mechanochemical route [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mining and Metallurgy. Section B: Metallurgy, 2008
In the present investigation celestite (natural ore of strontium) and blue dust (iron ore fines) have been used for the preparation of strontium hexaferrite powder. The mechanical alloying process has been adopted to prepare strontium hexaferrite powder.
