Hydrochemical Characteristics and Formation Mechanism of Strontium-Rich Groundwater in Shijiazhuang, North China Plain

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry, 2021
Strontium is a kind of trace element. Groundwater containing strontium is called mineral water when its content reaches a level that is beneficial for human physiology. Some groundwater resources in Shijiazhuang are rich in strontium.

Carbon and Strontium Abundances of Metal‐poor Stars [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2007
We present carbon and strontium abundances for 100 metal-poor stars measured from R$\sim $7000 spectra obtained with the Echellette Spectrograph and Imager at the Keck Observatory. Using spectral synthesis of the G-band region, we have derived carbon abundances for stars ranging from [Fe/H]$=-1.3$ to [Fe/H]$=-3.8$.

Strontium carbonate in glazes from the SiO2–Al2O3–CaO–MgO–Na2O–K2O system, sintering and surface properties

open access: yesOpen Ceramics, 2022
In this study, the influence of the addition of SrO on sintering and selected parameters of the surface of the glazes from the SiO2–Al2O3–CaO–MgO–Na2O–K2O system were examined.

Toxicological response and bioaccumulation of strontium in Festuca rubra L. (red fescue) and Trifolium pratense L. (red clover) in contaminated soil microcosms

open access: yesEnvironmental Systems Research, 2023
Potentially toxic elements (PTE) from industrial activities remain a global concern for their environmental hazards. In particular, strontium is found in drinking water and food, primarily from contamination from the nuclear industry, petroleum ...

Microbial formation of crystalline strontium carbonate [PDF]

open access: yesFEMS Microbiology Letters, 1994
Pseudomonas fluorescens appeared to grow in a mineral medium containing strontium (5 mM) complexed to citrate, the sole source of carbon, without any evident inhibition in cellular yield. Atomic absorption studies showed that the divalent metal was excluded from the cytoplasmic component and was initially found in the supernatant fluid in soluble form ...

Surface complexation model for strontium sorption to amorphous silica and goethite

open access: yesGeochemical Transactions, 2008
Strontium sorption to amorphous silica and goethite was measured as a function of pH and dissolved strontium and carbonate concentrations at 25°C. Strontium sorption gradually increases from 0 to 100% from pH 6 to 10 for both phases and requires multiple

Chemostratigraphy of Neoproterozoic carbonates: implications for 'blind dating' [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The delta C-13(carb) and Sr-87/Sr-86 secular variations in Neoproteozoic seawater have been used for the purpose of 'isotope stratigraphy' but there are a number of problems that can preclude its routine use.
