Surfactants-Controlled Morphosynthesis of Strontium Carbonate

Advanced Materials Research, 2011
The controlled synthesis of SrCO3 microstructures with different morphologies, such as flower-like, cauliflower-like and finger-like, were successfully achieved in the presence of mixed nonionic/anionic surfactants polyoxyethylene (20) sorbitan monolaurate (Tween20) and sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS).

Absorption of strontium cations by a carbon nanomatrix

Coke and Chemistry, 2015
The structure and adsorption properties a new micro- and nanostructured carbon matrix are studied. The sorptional capacity of the matrix is 65 mg/g for strontium (II) cations; the moisture absorption is 285.7 mg/g. The matrix effectively removes the strontium cations from aqueous solution. This suggests that it might prove useful in the purification of

Reaction of Strontium Carbonate with Anatase and Rutile

Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 1986
The kinetics of the solid‐state reaction of strontium carbonate with anatase and rutile in air and carbon dioxide were studied by use of a thermobalance. The product was single‐phase SrTiO 3 in all cases.

Les halogeno-carbonates de strontium

Journal of Inorganic and Nuclear Chemistry, 1969
Abstract In the SrX2SrCO3 (X  Cl, Br, I) binary systems a Sr3Br4Co3 orthorhombic phase isotypical with the baryum Ba3X4CO3 phases and a new metastable Sr4Cl6CO3 phase were made in evidence. Crystallographic data and thermal stability are determined.

Preparation of strontium carbonate from celestite

Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy, 2000
AbstractA novel method for the preparation of strontium carbonate from celestite ore has been investigated. The ore is reduced by brown coal at a temperature of 1000°C for a period of 3 h. The reduced product is leached with water at a liquid : solid ratio of 3 : 1 at 90°C and the slurry is then leached with hydrochloric acid at a solid : liquid ratio ...

Acid Reactivity of Carbonated Apatites with Strontium and Fluoride Substitutions

Journal of Dental Research, 1983
Carbonated apatites containing approximately 3.0 or 6.5% CO 3 were precipitated in the presence of sodium, strontium, and/or fluoride at various concentrations. Almost all the available strontium and fluoride was incorporated into the crystals, whereas only a portion of the carbonate and ...

Effect of Strontium Ions on Crystallization of Amorphous Calcium Carbonate

Crystal Research and Technology, 2019
AbstractIn biomineralization, amorphous precursors enable formation of complicated crystal shapes and incorporation of organic and inorganic impurities. In some cases the concentrations of the inorganic impurity atoms greatly exceed the thermodynamical (equilibrium) solubility limits.

Crystallization of carbonate hydroxyapatite in the presence of strontium ranelate

Crystallography Reports, 2015
The influence of strontium ranelate on the crystallization of carbonate hydroxyapatite from a prototype of synovial fluid of humans has been investigated. The synthesis products are studied by IR Fourier spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and differential thermal analysis.

Incorporation of strontium into reef coral skeletal carbonate

Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta, 1973
Abstract Two thousand and twenty well-characterized coral specimens from 17 localities have been analyzed for Sr. Seventy-three genera and subgenera, mostly hermatypic scleractinians, are represented. For some genera, specimens living in surface reef environments are compared with those from 18.3 m depths on the same reefs.
