The IRHUM (Isotopic Reconstruction of Human Migration) database – bioavailable strontium isotope ratios for geochemical fingerprinting in France [PDF]
Strontium isotope ratios (87Sr / 86Sr) are a key geochemical tracer used in a wide range of fields including archaeology, ecology, food and forensic sciences.

Finding Mycenaeans in Minoan Crete? Isotope and DNA analysis of human mobility in Bronze Age Crete.
We undertook a large-scale study of Neolithic and Bronze Age human mobility on Crete using biomolecular methods (isotope analysis, DNA), with a particular focus on sites dating to the Late Bronze Age ('Late Minoan') period.

Extreme enrichment in atmospheric 15N15N. [PDF]
Molecular nitrogen (N2) comprises three-quarters of Earth's atmosphere and significant portions of other planetary atmospheres. We report a 19 per mil (‰) excess of 15N15N in air relative to a random distribution of nitrogen isotopes, an enrichment that ...

Determination of strontium isotope ratios in plant samples by wet ashing digestion
Strontium isotope provenance analysis has been widely applied across multiple disciplines, including archaeology, food science, and forensics. The establishment of bioavailable ⁸⁷Sr/⁸⁶Sr maps, known as isoscapes, which rely on a substantial number of ...

Stable isotopes of animal tissue have been used to estimate diet for many consumer species and places, but the ability to assign contributions to all food items is limited by the number of tracers used, and the separation of the tracer data among the ...

Strontium isotope compositions of river waters as records of lithology-dependent mass transfers : the Garonne river and its tributaries (SW France) [PDF]
The relation of lithology in the drainage basin to the dissolved load of the Garonne river and its main tributaries, in southwestern France, was evaluated by determining 87Sr/86Sr ratios, and concentrations of major and trace elements during a 2-year ...

Continental weathering as the source of iron in Jurassic iron oolites from Switzerland
Iron is extremely insoluble in oxic seawater. The lack of a large aqueous reservoir means that sediments rich in authigenic iron are rare in the modern ocean.

Bose-Einstein Condensation of $^{88}$Sr Through Sympathetic Cooling with $^{87}$Sr [PDF]
We report Bose-Einstein condensation of $^{88}$Sr, which has a small, negative s-wave scattering length ($a_{88}=-2$\,$a_0$). We overcome the poor evaporative cooling characteristics of this isotope by sympathetic cooling with $^{87}$Sr atoms.
