An investigation by LA-ICP-MS of possum tooth enamel as a model for identifying childhood geographical locations of historical and archaeological human from New Zealand [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
LA -IC P-MS (laser ablation-inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry) has been used to analyse enamel from the teeth of brushtail possum (Trichosurus vulpecula) in order to model a method for identifying the childhood geographical origin of human ...

Spatially Resolved Multiomics Reveals Metabolic Remodeling and Autophagy Activation in Adamantinomatous Craniopharyngiomas

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multiomics integration analysis reveals the “cystic fluid–tumor cell” metabolic coupling that mediates active choline/ethanolamine uptake of tumor cells from cystic fluid and PC/PE synthesis pathways reprogramming that mediating autophagy pathway activation within ACP. ABSTRACT Adamantinomatous craniopharyngioma (ACP), a benign yet highly recurrent and

A pilot bioavailable strontium isotope baseline map of Southern British Columbia, Canada

open access: yesFACETS
Strontium isotopes are used for provenience and mobility studies in archaeology, ecology, and forensic studies, and rely on accurate baseline maps that are used to compare and interpret human and animal strontium ratios.

Fourier-transform spectroscopy of Sr2 and revised ground state potential

open access: yes, 2009
Precise potentials for the ground state X1Sigma+g and the minimum region of the excited state 2_1Sigma+u of Sr2 are derived by high resolution Fourier-transform spectroscopy of fluorescence progressions from single frequency laser excitation of Sr2 ...

Extreme enrichment in atmospheric 15N15N. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Molecular nitrogen (N2) comprises three-quarters of Earth's atmosphere and significant portions of other planetary atmospheres. We report a 19 per mil (‰) excess of 15N15N in air relative to a random distribution of nitrogen isotopes, an enrichment that ...

Ultrafast Electron Transfer Coupled with a Proton Relay in an Anisotropic Dual S‐Scheme Heterojunction for Overcoming Kinetics Mismatch in H2O2 Photosynthesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An anisotropic dual S‐scheme heterojunction (C3N4/SubPc‐1/C3N5) is constructed to overcome the electron–proton kinetics mismatch in photocatalytic H2O2 production. The imide bridge serves as a dual channel for ultrafast electron transfer and proton relay, synergistically enabling efficient dual‐pathway oxygen reduction and achieving a high H2O2 ...

A critical review of porous adsorbents for air separation: From fundamental insights to rational adsorbent design

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Air separation via selective adsorption using porous adsorbents offers energy‐efficient alternatives to cryogenic distillation for producing high‐purity O2 and N2. Adsorbent efficacy depends on balancing selectivity, durability, and performance consistency across varying conditions. This comprehensive review critically discusses the design and

Bose-Einstein Condensation of $^{88}$Sr Through Sympathetic Cooling with $^{87}$Sr [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We report Bose-Einstein condensation of $^{88}$Sr, which has a small, negative s-wave scattering length ($a_{88}=-2$\,$a_0$). We overcome the poor evaporative cooling characteristics of this isotope by sympathetic cooling with $^{87}$Sr atoms.

Strontium isotopes in Early Jurassic seawater

open access: yesGeochimica et Cosmochimica Acta, 1994
Abstract The analysis of well-preserved, well-dated belemnites and oysters from the Jurassic of Great Britain has resulted in a well-constrained, detailed seawater strontium isotope curve for the Early Jurassic. The preservation of fossil low-Mg calcite was monitored using Mn, Fe, δ 13 C , and δ 18 O .
