Hypnotic color blindness and performance on the stroop test

International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis, 2001
A suggestion for hypnotic color blindness was investigated by administering a reverse Stroop color-naming task. Prior to the suggestion for color blindness, participants learned associations between color names and shapes. Following the color blindness suggestion, participants were required to name the shapes when they appeared in colors that were ...

A Group Version of the Stroop Color and Word Test

Journal of Personality Assessment, 1975
The uses of the Stroop Color and Word Test have been limited because of the lack of a standardized form, particularly one which could be used for both individual and group administrations as demanded by the requirements of a research project. The present version of the test counted the number of items completed by the subject in a 45-second time period.

Reliability of the Stroop Test with Single-Stimulus Presentation

Perceptual and Motor Skills, 1995
Different versions of the Stroop test are used; however, for most versions of the Stroop test, there are no estimations of reliability. In the present study, stimuli were presented singly on a computer screen. 55 Swiss German subjects were tested. Test-retest reliabilities of ‘XXXX’ strings and conflicting color words were evaluated. Response latencies

Reversal of Stroop Test: Interference in Word Reading

Perceptual and Motor Skills, 1974
It appears that a component of verbal reaction time, response-choice latency, exists for encoded words as well as colors. Therefore, it was hypothesized that color stimuli could exert a disruptive influence on the processes of this latency to encoded word stimuli in contrast to the reverse effect which has often been found in the standard Stroop test ...

An auditory analog of the Stroop Test.

The Journal of general psychology, 1976
With use of a tape-recorded auditory method of stimulus presentation, 112 undergraduates were required to identify the tonal concepts of high and low when these concepts were symbolically coded both in terms of high and low pitches of voice and by the spoken words "high" and "low." Trials consisted of 44-item sequential identifications of the concepts.
