Ultrasound Cavitation Enables Rapid, Initiator‐Free Fabrication of Tough Anti‐Freezing Hydrogels
This work establishes a foundation for high‐performance sonogel fabrication using non‐focused and focused ultrasound, and demonstrates that ultrasound cavitation enables rapid, initiator‐free, and oxygen‐tolerant formation of hydrogels with superior mechanical and physical properties. .

Sedimentation of the Lower Cretaceous Xiagou formation and Its Response to Regional Tectonics in the Qingxi Sag, Jiuquan Basin, NW China [PDF]
Under the constraint of an isochronous sequence stratigraphic framework, sediment infill of the Xiagou Formation reflects the overall control of dynamic tectonic movements and episodic sedimentations in the Qingxi Sag.

Tryptophan‐like dissolved organic matter (Try‐like DOM), a key component of organic matter in river ecosystems, demonstrates significant protective effects against plant viruses. The protective mechanism operates via a “swimming firewall” mode, whereby free Try‐like DOM attenuates ultraviolet (UV) radiation and scavenges reactive oxygen species ...

Structural analysis of high-dimensional basins of attraction [PDF]
We propose an efficient Monte Carlo method for the computation of the volumes of high-dimensional bodies with arbitrary shape. We start with a region of known volume within the interior of the manifold and then use the multistate Bennett acceptance-ratio method to compute the dimensionless free-energy difference between a series of equilibrium ...

Polyglutamine (polyQ) tract expansion (≥ 36 amino acids) within the N‐terminal region of the Huntingtin protein (Httex1) causes Huntington's disease (HD), for which the underlying causes are not well‐understood. The authors performed computer simulations to understand the cause of HD at the molecular level.

Tectonic control on southern Sierra Nevada topography, California [PDF]
In this study we integrate the apatite (U-Th)/He thermochronometric technique with geomorphic, structural, and stratigraphic studies to pursue the origin and evolution of topographic relief related to extensive late Cenozoic faulting in the southern ...

Resistance Drift of Phase Change Materials Beyond the Power Law
The timedependent resistance of phase change materials is important for their application as electronic memory. Here, resistance measurements of melt‐quenched germanium telluride from nanoseconds to minutes are presented. By going far beyond the usually considered measurement regime, deviations from the ubiquitous power law behavior are observed, that ...

Advanced Workflows for Fluid Transfer in Faulted Basins
The traditional 3D basin modeling workflow is made of the following steps: construction of present day basin architecture, reconstruction of the structural evolution through time, together with fluid flow simulation and heat transfers.

Abstract Futures markets are critical to price discovery and often dominate spot markets. We analyze the linkages between daily corn futures and spot prices in the United States using dynamic time warping. This nonparametric pattern recognition technique has several advantages over traditional time series methods.
