“Structural connections” in formal languages

Communications of the ACM, 1964
This paper defines the concept of “structural connection” in a mechanical language in an attempt to classify various formal languages according to the complexity of parsing structures on strings in the languages. Languages discussed vary in complexity from those with essentially no structure at all to languages which are self-defining. The relationship

Indirect Structural Connectivity Identifies Changes in Brain Networks After Stroke

Brain Connectivity, 2020
Background/Purpose: The purpose of this study was (1) to identify changes in structural connectivity after stroke and (2) to relate changes in indirect connectivity to post-stroke impairment.

Structural connectivity in Parkinson's disease

Parkinsonism & Related Disorders, 2016
In the last decades a rapid evolution of structural advanced MRI techniques has occurred supporting the diagnosis of idiopathic Parkinson's disease, allowing us to further investigate the disease progression from nigral to extra-nigral degeneration and finally to detect pre-manifest Parkinson's disease.

Transforming the fully-connected structures of hybrid precoders into dynamic partially-connected structures

2021 28th International Conference on Telecommunications (ICT), 2021
Partially connected structures for hybrid precoders have called attention because they reduce the number of phase shifters and eliminate the need for radio frequency (RF) adders. There are two categories of partial structures, fixed and dynamic. In fixed structures, each RF chain is connected to an antenna subarray, whereas in dynamic structures, the ...

Structure connectivity and substructure connectivity of Möbius cubes

The Computer Journal
Abstract The connectivity is an important measurement for the fault-tolerance of networks. To provide more accurate measures for the fault-tolerance of networks than the connectivity, some generalizations of connectivity have been introduced.

Extra Connectivity and Structure Connectivity of 2-Dimensional Torus Networks

International Journal of Foundations of Computer Science, 2022
The 2-dimensional torus networks, denoted by [Formula: see text], is a special case of the famous [Formula: see text]-dimensional torus network. The extra connectivity, structure connectivity and sub-structure connectivity are generalized connectivity to measure the fault-tolerance of the networks.

On the structure of cross connections and Galois connections

Korean Journal of Computational & Applied Mathematics, 1995
We consider partially ordered set as passing from the set of ideals to the set of filters in Cartesian product of partially ordered sets. Lawson introduced the concept of cross connection with the ideal and filter. We show the relation between Galois connection and cross connection.

Structure of the tendon connective tissue

Scandinavian Journal of Medicine & Science in Sports, 2000
Tendons consist of collagen (mostly type I collagen) and elastin embedded in a proteoglycan‐water matrix with collagen accounting for 65–80% and elastin approximately 1–2% of the dry mass of the tendon. These elements are produced by tenoblasts and tenocytes, which are the elongated fibroblasts and fibrocytes that lie between the collagen fibers, and ...

Structural connectivity in multiple sclerosis and modeling of disconnection

Multiple Sclerosis, 2019
Background: Multiple sclerosis (MS) is characterized by focal white matter damage, and when the brain is modeled as a network, lesions can be treated as disconnection events.

Structural connectivity as an indicator of species richness and landscape diversity in Castilla y León (Spain)

Forest Ecology and Management, 2019
Connectivity loss has been identified as one of the greatest threats to biodiversity, at both the species and ecosystem levels. This study aims to find possible correlations between structural connectivity and faunal richness and landscape diversity in ...
