Changes in energy efficiency in Australia: A decomposition of aggregate energy intensity using Logarithmic Mean Divisia approach [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper provides an empirical estimation of energy efficiency and other proximate factors that explain energy intensity in Australia for the period 1978-2009.

Multiplicative decomposition and index number theory: an empirical application of the Sato-Vartia decomposition [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
In De Boer (2006) the additive decomposition of the aggregate change in a variable into its factors was considered. I proposed to use the "ideal" Montgomery decomposition, developed in index number theory, rather than the commonly used methods in ...

On‐Surface Indigo‐Based Bimolecular Coordination Networks with Programmable Regular or Vitreous Structure

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A previously unreported coordination motif stabilising single Fe atoms by indigo chelation and pyridyl coordination on Au(111) has been revealed. By using planar tritopic pyridyl linkers (TPyB), extended 2D porous networks of indigo3(TPyB)2Fe6 form. These networks can be crystalline or vitreous and offer an environment where individual coordination ...

Trends and determinants of energy intensity in China: A study using index decomposition and econometric analysis

open access: yesEnvironmental and Sustainability Indicators
The Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 7 underscores the global imperative to accelerate progress in energy efficiency. This paper investigates the drivers of energy intensity changes in China from 2006 to 2022 using provincial panel data, Fisher's Ideal

Measuring energy efficiency - structural and index decomposition analysis

open access: yesThe Central European Review of Economics and Management, 2018
Aim: The aim is to recognize the main determinants of the energy efficiency improvement in transport in Poland in the years 2000-2014 using structural and index decomposition analysis, and to identify areas where there is still potential for further reduction of energy consumption.Design / Research methods: Techniques used to analyse changes in energy ...

Defect‐Mediated Scintillation in Fully Inorganic Perovskites via Water‐Induced 0D/3D Phase Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A reproducible synthesis to control 3D/0D phase ratios via water‐tuned solvent–antisolvent methods is presented. Enhanced scintillation yield and ultrafast decay are achieved. Defect‐driven emission mechanisms are revealed through cathodoluminescence and radioluminescence, shedding light on the underexplored role of the 0D Cs4PbBr6 and mixed 0D/3D ...

Self‐Immolative Activatable Nanoassembly toward Immuno‐Photodynamic Therapy in TME

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A quinone methide‐gated, self‐immolative, H2O2‐responsive nano‐photosensitizer (Pyz/PS) is developed for targeted immuno‐photodynamic therapy. Pyz/PS selectively activates within tumor microenvironments, restores photosensitizer activity, generates ROS, and depletes intracellular GSH, enhancing oxidative stress.

Uncovering external drivers of methane emissions in China: a multi-perspective input-output analysis of key emission sources

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Communications
As the world’s largest methane (CH _4 ) emitter, China’s efforts in CH _4 mitigation are crucial for global climate action. Existing studies primarily focus on sector-specific internal mitigation from a production-side perspective, while understanding ...

Dual Economies and International Total Factor Productivity Differences. [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper argues that a significant part of measured TFP differences across countries is attributable not to technological factors that affect the entire economy neutrally, but rather, to variations in the structural composition of economies.

Reevaluating the Activity of ZIF‐8 Based FeNCs for Electrochemical Ammonia Production

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Though receiving much attention, the field of electrochemical nitrogen reduction reaction (eNRR) to ammonia is marked by doubts about whether this reaction is possible in aqueous media. This work sheds light on this question for iron single‐atom on N‐doped carbon (FeNC) catalysts—a class of well‐known catalysts that is also worth testing for the sister
