Knowledge Engineering for the Generative Era: Redefining and Structuring an Emerging Discipline
Knowledge Engineering (KE) — the discipline of designing systems that acquire, represent, verify, and distribute knowledge — was born in 1977, thrived during the expert systems boom, and collapsed with the AI Winter of 1987–1993. For two decades, it survived in disguise within the Semantic Web, ontology languages, and knowledge graphs.

A hierarchical porous copper current collector is fabricated via three‐dimensional printing combined with pressureless sintering to stabilize lithium metal anodes. The interconnected architecture lowers local current density, guides uniform Li deposition within pores, and suppresses dendrite growth.

Near‐Field Electrospinning Micro‐Printhead Achieves Precise Control of Nanofiber Deposition
A micro‐printhead for near‐field electrospinning enables reproducible deposition of polymer nanofibers with diameters below 50 nm. Systematic parameter studies uncover the mechanisms linking operating conditions to fiber morphology, paving the way for precise and low‐cost nanoscale 3D manufacturing. As a high‐resolution, cost‐effective, and rapid ...

An innovative approach for structural engineering education
After the 9/11 incident many structural educators became aware of the importance of inculcating in their students a clear understanding of local and global structural behaviour to develop in them basic knowledge about the progressive collapse of ...

Form Composition: The Generative Structural Engine of Metaphors in Human Cognition
This paper explores the origins of non-literal meaning in human cognition and proposes a generative structural engine based on each concept’s central form—a reductive, domain-general format embedded within every concept we learn, which encodes a small subset of each concept’s information with a default sense of certainty.

Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.
