Organizational Structure and Fund Performance: Pension Funds vs. Mutual Funds
SSRN Electronic Journal, 2010This paper examines how the organizational structure of the defined benefit pension fund industry influence the investment decision and performance of pension fund managers. Corporate treasurers, who have an incentive to reduce their own job risk, tend to hire pension fund managers with low tracking error.

Structural Funds and Economic Divide in Italy [PDF]
, 2009 This paper provides a contribution to the debate on the role of EU cohesion policy in Italy. The focus is on the territorial effects of EU spending from 1996 to 2007. The empirical analysis considers a neoclassical growth model which is augmented by the structural funds spent by each region.

Following accession in 2007, Romania is eligible for more than EUR 29.5 billion of the EU's structural and cohesion funds. However, open questions remain about the Romanian administration's capacity to make use of these huge amounts of money.
