The uniqueness of DMAX-matrix graph invariants. [PDF]
In this paper, we examine the uniqueness (discrimination power) of a newly proposed graph invariant based on the matrix DMAX defined by Randić et al. In order to do so, we use exhaustively generated graphs instead of special graph classes such as trees ...

Local affine image matching and synthesis based on structural patterns [PDF]
A general purpose block-to-block affine transformation estimator is described. The estimator is based on Fourier slice analysis and Fourier spectral alignment.

An invariant subspace problem for multilinear operators on Banach spaces and algebras
This paper is concerned with the study of invariant subspace problems for nonlinear operators on Banach spaces/algebras. Our study reveals that one faces unprecedented challenges such as lack of vector space structure and unbounded spectral sets when ...

Invariants and Structural Invariants of the Anisotropic Elasticity Tensor [PDF]
Summary: We study invariants of the anisotropic elasticity tensor. The invariants are obtained by defining certain tensors of order two associated with elasticity tensor. We find four second-order invariants with respect to arbitrary orthogonal transformations. This increases by two the number of already known such invariants.

Distinct Intracellular Compartments Involved in Invariant Chain Degradation and Antigenic Peptide Loading of Major Histocompatibility Complex (MHC) Class II Molecules [PDF]
Major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class II molecules are transported to intracellular MHC class II compartments via a transient association with the invariant chain (Ii).

A Novel Affine and Contrast Invariant Descriptor for Infrared and Visible Image Registration
Infrared and visible image registration is a very challenging task due to the large geometric changes and the significant contrast differences caused by the inconsistent capture conditions.

On learning with shift-invariant structures [PDF]
We describe new results and algorithms for two different, but related, problems which deal with circulant matrices: learning shift-invariant components from training data and calculating the shift (or alignment) between two given signals. In the first instance, we deal with the shift-invariant dictionary learning problem while the latter bears the name

Gauge invariant structures and confinement [PDF]
By looking at cooled configurations on the lattice, we study the presence of peaks in the action density, or its electric and magnetic components, in the SU(2) gauge vacuum. The peaks are seen to be of instanton-like nature and their number variation takes care of the drop in the string tension observed when cooling.

Evaluation of the Noise Immunity of the MIAM Communication System
The article proposes a modification of the known invariant amplitude modulation that transmits the values of information elements by the ratio of the lengths of the signal vectors lying on a straight line passing through the origin of the coordinate ...

Modal Parameters Identification Method Based on Symplectic Geometry Model Decomposition
This paper proposes a novel method of structural system modal identification, where the iterative method is introduced in symplectic geometric model decomposition (SGMD).
