Convolutional Neural Network for Specimen-Invariant Structural Health Monitoring of FRC Under Flexural Loading [PDF]

open access: yesSensors
Reinforced Concrete (RC) structures experience progressive degradation over their service life due to mechanical loading and environmental exposure, leading to reduced bearing capacity and compromised structural safety. Incorporating discrete fibers into

Noneistence of Invariant Rigid Structures and Invariant Almost Rigid Structures [PDF]

open access: yesCommunications in Analysis and Geometry, 2005
We prove that certain volume preserving actions of Lie groups and their lattices do not preserve rigid geometric structures in the sense of Gromov. The actions considered are the "exotic" examples obtained by Katok and Lewis and the first author, by blowing up closed orbits in the well known actions on homogeneous spaces.

Invariants and Structural Invariants of the Anisotropic Elasticity Tensor [PDF]

open access: yesThe Quarterly Journal of Mechanics and Applied Mathematics, 2002
Summary: We study invariants of the anisotropic elasticity tensor. The invariants are obtained by defining certain tensors of order two associated with elasticity tensor. We find four second-order invariants with respect to arbitrary orthogonal transformations. This increases by two the number of already known such invariants.

On learning with shift-invariant structures [PDF]

open access: yesDigital Signal Processing, 2020
We describe new results and algorithms for two different, but related, problems which deal with circulant matrices: learning shift-invariant components from training data and calculating the shift (or alignment) between two given signals. In the first instance, we deal with the shift-invariant dictionary learning problem while the latter bears the name

Gauge invariant structures and confinement [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 1995
By looking at cooled configurations on the lattice, we study the presence of peaks in the action density, or its electric and magnetic components, in the SU(2) gauge vacuum. The peaks are seen to be of instanton-like nature and their number variation takes care of the drop in the string tension observed when cooling.

The Resurgent Structure of Quantum Knot Invariants [PDF]

open access: yesCommunications in Mathematical Physics, 2021
AbstractThe asymptotic expansion of quantum knot invariants in complex Chern–Simons theory gives rise to factorially divergent formal power series. We conjecture that these series are resurgent functions whose Stokes automorphism is given by a pair of matrices of q-series with integer coefficients, which are determined explicitly by the fundamental ...

Modal Parameters Identification Method Based on Symplectic Geometry Model Decomposition

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2019
This paper proposes a novel method of structural system modal identification, where the iterative method is introduced in symplectic geometric model decomposition (SGMD).

Evaluation of the Noise Immunity of the MIAM Communication System

open access: yesProceedings of the International Conference on Applied Innovations in IT, 2021
The article proposes a modification of the known invariant amplitude modulation that transmits the values of information elements by the ratio of the lengths of the signal vectors lying on a straight line passing through the origin of the coordinate ...

Elements of the spatial scenario of historic housing as an invariant code of innovative typology “house-yard” [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2023
The morphological, structural and content elements that form an invariant model of innovative multifunctional typology “house-yard” are considered. The continuity of this model in relation to the historical urban neighborhood development as a prototype ...
