On the 2Δp/n structure of PbPbOPb tunnel junctions

Physics Letters, 1966
The fine-structure of the tunneling characteristics observed [1] in PbPbOPb superconducting tunnel junctions has been interpreted as 2 Δp/n structure due to the breaking of p electron pairs and the tunneling of n electrons in the same processes.

New Pb–Pb bonds: syntheses and molecular structures of hexabiphenyldiplumbane and tri(trisbiphenylplumbyl)plumbate

Chem. Commun., 2004
Reaction of lead(II) chloride with biphenylmagnesium bromide yields Bp(3)Pb-PbBp(3) and [(THF)(3)Mg(mu-Cl)(3)Mg(THF)(3)][Pb(PbBp(3))(3)](Bp = biphenyl), which, upon single crystal X-ray crystallographic analysis, reveals an interesting variation of Pb-Pb bond distances.

Structure and growth of epitaxial Pb on Si(111)

Physical Review B, 1992
A detailed study on the structure, growth, and morphology of epitaxial Pb layers on Si(111) is presented. Grey et al. already determined the structures of the Si(111)(7 x 7)-Pb and Si(111)(unroofed radical 3BAR x unroofed radical 3BAR)R 30-degrees-Pb(beta) monolayer phases with grazing-incidence x-ray diffraction.

Structure of Liquid Cu-Pb Alloys

Physics and Chemistry of Liquids, 1996
Abstract Liquid Cu–Pb alloys containing 14.7; 34.5; 40 and 67 at.% Pb were investigated by means of X–ray scattering method. Temperatures at which structure factors were measured are corresponding to one phase region on the phase diagram. Analysis of the structure factors and calculated pair correlation functions may possible to conclude that tendency ...

Electron Tunnelling in Pb/Ag Ultrathin Layered Structures

Physica Status Solidi (a), 1984
The layered samples are produced by the sequential deposition of lead and silver with thicknesses within the range from 6 to 35 monolayers. The samples about 100 nm thick show X-ray diffraction spectra characteristic of a superlattice. Measurements of the electron tunnelling spectra of AlAl2O3Pb/Ag layered ultrathin films are performed.

The structure of Bacillus subtilis bacteriophage PBS 1

Journal of Ultrastructure Research, 1967
The structure of bacteriophage PBS 1 has been studied by electron microscopy using negative staining. Two unique structures were observed: several large helical tail fibers, and a number of “contraction fibers” seen only on contracted particles. The tail sheath was seen at several different stages of contraction. Approximate dimensions of the phage are
