Structural Issues in the Japanese Labor Market: An Era of Variety, Equity, and Efficiency or an Era of Bipolarization? [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper describes several structural changes in the Japanese labor market and related institutional factors with special emphasis on the labor supplies of part-time workers and discouraged workers. We also discuss necessary reforms in the labor market

Hydrogen‐Bonding Networks Enabled by Trace Water for Morphological Design in Ternary Organic Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Trace water transforms from an impurity to a design handle for ternary organic solar cells. During solvent evaporation, minimal amounts organize transient hydrogen‐bonding networks that steer component migration and set the morphology. The mechanism enables reproducible morphology locking and identifies a practical co‐solvent threshold near H2O:CF = 0 ...

Market Reforms and Efficiency Gains in Chile [PDF]

open access: yes
Starting in the mid 1970s, Chile implemented a deep and comprehensive set of structural market reforms. In spite of the wide agreement there is with respect to the benefits these reforms should have on growth, little evidence has been provided to ...

NIR Light‐Driven Photocatalytic Antibacterial Hydrogels for Synergistic MRSA Biofilm Eradication and Wound Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The nanohybrid hydrogel (Fe‐BOS@C/H Gel) is composed of Fe‐Bi2O2‐XS (Fe‐BOS) photocatalysts and CS‐ADH/OHA (C/H) hydrogel. Fe‐BOS photocatalysts achieve near‐infrared (NIR) light‐driven antibacterial photocatalytic/mild photothermal therapy (APCT/MPTT), effectively eliminating methicillin‐resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) biofilms. The degradation

Microwave Ultrafast Heating on Iron‐based Nanogap Catalysts for CO2 Reduction Coupling with Coke Removal

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study employs a nanogap‐induced microwave discharge strategy to pretreat coke deposits on iron‐based catalysts with engineered nanogaps, causing ultrarapid heating to 1990 K within seconds, selectively eliminating >70% surface carbon deposits and converting waste plastics and greenhouse gases into syngas.
