Distance Based Algorithms for Small Biomolecule Classification
Structural similarity search among small molecules is a standard tool used in molecular classification and insilico drug discovery. The effectiveness of this general approach depends on how well the following problems are addressed.

Measuring the Structural Similarity among XML Documents and DTDs [PDF]
Measuring the structural similarity between an XML document and a DTD has many relevant applications that range from document classification and approximate structural queries on XML documents to selective dissemination of XML documents and document ...

We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Binding modes vs. structural similarity.
IRMSD is plotted against (a) complex structural similarity (the smallest of the TM-score and normalized SARA score) and (b) protein structure similarity, in all-to-all pairwise comparison of 439 binary complexes.

Noncontiguous Atom Matching Structural Similarity Function
Measuring similarity between molecules is a fundamental problem in cheminformatics. Given that similar molecules tend to have similar physical, chemical, and biological properties, the notion of molecular similarity plays an important role in the ...

Inflationary tilings with a similarity structure
This paper deals with tilings, called similarity tilings, of the plane by tiles with (up to similarity) only finitely many shapes and finitely many surroundings (or matching conditions). It is called inflationary if there is an expanding linear map which maps tiles onto unions of tiles.

Drosophila park mutants serve as a model for Parkinson's disease. We used this strain to investigate the connection between oxidative stress and the circadian clock mechanism. We showed that increased oxidative stress affects the physiology of pacemaker cells, disrupting their daily structural plasticity. Lack of rhythmic signaling from pacemaker cells

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

Thick‐film all‐small‐molecule (ASM) organic solar cells (OSCs) are preferred for large‐scale fabrication with printing techniques due to the distinct advantages of monodispersion, easy purification, and negligible batch‐to‐batch variation.

Semi-Supervised Classification With Graph Structure Similarity and Extended Label Propagation
Graph-based semi-supervised learning (GSSL) has attracted great attention over the past decade. However, there are still several open problems: (1) how to construct a graph that effectively represents the underlying structure of data and (2) how to ...
