Stereo Endoscopic Camera Pose Optimal Estimation by Structure Similarity Index Measure Integration
The International Journal of Medical Robotics and Computer Assisted SurgeryABSTRACTBackgroundAccurate endoscopic camera pose estimation is crucial for real‐time AR navigation systems. While current methods primarily use depth and optical flow, they often ignore structural inconsistencies between images.MethodsLeveraging the RAFT framework, we process sequential stereo RGB pairs to extract optical flow and depth features for ...

Biometrics is the widely used technology for identification of a person. Palmprint is one of the most frequently used biometric identifiers. Decision for matching of two images is a common step in all the biometric system. Similarity comparison between two images of a biometric identifier decides that two images are matched or not.

A method to refine organic crystal structures from powder diffraction data with incorrect lattice parameters has been developed. The method is based on the similarity measure developed by de Gelderet al.[J. Comput. Chem.(2001),22, 273–289], using the cross- and auto-correlation functions of a simulated and an experimental powder pattern.

This paper deals with the design and analysis of 2D filters for improving the resolution of interpolated satellite images. The images are reduced first by a certain factor and then interpolated back to the original size. Linear phase 2D filters are designed to optimize the structural similarity index measure (SSIM). Then the satellite image is enlarged

An Efficient Algorithm for Computing the Derivative of Mean Structural Similarity Index Measure
2019Many inverse problems in imaging can be addressed using energy minimization. The Euclidean distance is traditionally used in data fidelity term of energy functionals, even though it is not an optimal measure of visual quality. Recently the use of Mean Structural Similarity Index Measure (MSSIM) in data fidelity expressions has been examined.

VR has become one of the most reliable simulation techniques due to the practicality of human-subject research. Meanwhile, VR simulation technology aims to achieve the best photorealistic environment for the best immersive experience. However, wayfinding VR simulation with a point cloud environment must be evaluated to determine its feasibility in ...

In this paper we present new reduced video quality measure (RVQM) based on 3D steerable wavelet transform and modified SSIM (Structural Similarity index) measure. RVQM is compared with other full and reduced reference quality measures and tested on LIVE video and LIVE mobile databases.
