Efficient NiOx Hole Transport Layers Enabled by Multifunctional MXenes for High‐Performance Tin‐Lead Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An efficient NiOx HTL is successfully prepared by introducing MXene as an additive without further surface modification to fabricate high‐performance FASn0.5Pb0.5I3 perovskite solar cells. The introduction of MXene contributes to improved conductivity of NiOx, better aligned at NiOx/perovskite interfaces, and enhanced quality of perovskite films ...

Advancements in Vibration Testing: Effects on Thermal Performance and Degradation of Modern Batteries

open access: yesBatteries
Lithium-ion cells are increasingly being used as central power storage systems for modern applications, i.e., e-bikes, electric vehicles (EVs), satellites, and spacecraft, and they face significant and constant vibrations.

SI‐bioATRP in Mesoporous Silica for Size‐Exclusion Driven Local Polymer Placement

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An enzyme‐catalyzed surface‐initiated atom transfer radical polymerization (SI‐bioATRP) of an anionic monomer within mesoporous silica particles, using hemoglobin as a catalyst, allows for controlling the location of the formed polymer via size‐exclusion effects between the nanopores and the biomacromolecules, thereby opening routes to functional ...

Geometry‐Dependent Adhesion in Transparent Monodomain Liquid Crystal Elastomers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Liquid Crystal Elastomers (LCEs) are emerging as exciting pressure‐sensitive adhesives. We examine adhesion in chemically identical elastomer films, exploring the influence of geometry (director orientation) and phase (nematic or isotropic). We demonstrate the potential of these aligned films as transparent, tunable, broad‐temperature‐range smart ...

Single‐Crystalline Lateral p‐SnS/n‐SnSe van der Waals Heterostructures by Vapor Transport Growth with In Situ Bi Doping

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In‐situ doping during growth of SnSe and subsequent attachment of SnS produces high‐quality lateral pn‐heterojunctions between van der Waals semiconductors. Electron beam induced current measurements demonstrate electrically active pn‐junctions, paving the way for devices that harness charge separation at lateral interfaces in layered heterostructures.

REDUCTION OF STEEL CHIMNEY VIBRATIONS WITH A PENDULUM DAMPER

open access: yesTASK Quarterly, 2004
Karman vortices observed around chimneys may induce dangerous structural vibrations at certain wind velocities. The aim of this paper is to analyse the effectiveness of a pendulum damper in reducing vibrations of a steel chimney. A two-degree-of-freedom
