Structured Voting for Structured Committees

open access: yesCoRR, 2022
There has been much recent work on multiwinner voting systems. However, sometimes a committee is highly structured, and if we want to vote for such a committee, our voting method should be more structured as well. We consider committees consisting of representatives for disjoint parts of a collective; for instance, n departments of an organization ...

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Podstawowe założenia strukturalizmu w filozofii matematyki

open access: yesZagadnienia Filozoficzne w Nauce, 2009
The notion of a structure is one of fundamental notions in mathematics: we speak of geometrical, topological, probabilistic, differential etc. structures.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

La fenomenología como estructuralismo genético natural

open access: yesEnfoques, 2016
A menudo se ha presentado a la fenomenología y al estructuralismo como perspectivas contra puestas. Nos proponemos revisar esta confrontación. Argumentaremos que hubo cierta influencia de Husserl en el estructuralismo de principios del siglo XX, y que ...

CONSUMPTION AS A SOCIAL STATUS SYMBOL IN STRUCTURALISM

open access: yesНаука Красноярья, 2014
The article looks at the basic theoretical concepts of the political economy of the sign (structuralism, postmodernity) and their development in the theory of power based on the work by J. Baudrillard ‘For a Critique of the Political Economy of the Sign’.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Structuralism as a Stance

open access: yesPhilosophy of Physics
In this paper, I argue that ontic structural realism is best understood not as a thesis or doctrine concerning how the world fundamentally is, but rather as a “stance” in the sense of van Fraassen (2002).

Studi Perbandingan Paradigma Fungsionalisme Structural VS Strukturalisme Levi-Strauss

open access: yesAsketik, 2018
This study aims to compare two paradigms functional paradigm (structural) vs. structuralism Levi-Strauss. To answer questions about both these paradigms will use a comparative study between functionalism paradigm theory or functionalism (structural) and ...

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...
