Quantitative Relationships Between Structure and Lipophilicity of Naturally Occurring Polyphenols

open access: yesActa Chimica Slovenica, 2014
The lipophilicity of polyphenols inherent in food, beverages, and medicinal plants was modelled by using 3D descriptors derived from optimized 3D molecular structures in combination with 2D descriptors.

Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

Structure–Property Relationships of CNT–Al2O3 Nano-Reinforced Al 6061 Matrix

open access: yesMetals
Hybrid nanocomposites based on Aluminum 6061 (Al 6061) reinforced with carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and aluminum oxide (Al2O3) emerge as promising materials due to their ability to achieve simultaneous improvements in strength, thermal stability, and ...

Epigenetic heterogeneity and plasticity in therapy‐induced tumor states through single‐cell multi‐omics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.

Legally binding agreements: Property division and child care when relationships break down. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The study aimed to determine the extent to which couples use minutes of agreement to regulate property division, what they actually agree, and the extent to which what they agree reflects the provisions of the 1985 Act and the wider policy objectives of ...

In vitro and in silico modelling of ROS1‐positive non‐small cell lung cancer reveals fusion‐dependent tyrosine kinase inhibitor responses

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Structure-Property Relationships in Unsymmetric Bis(antiaromatics): Who Wins the Battle Between Pentalene and Benzocyclobutadiene? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
According to the currently accepted structure-property relationships, aceno-pentalenes with angular shape (fused to the 1,2-bond of the acene) exhibit higher antiaromaticity than those with linear shape (fused to the 2,3-bond of the acene).

Structure–property relationships in dicyanopyrazinoquinoxalines and their hydrogen-bonding-capable dihydropyrazinoquinoxalinedione derivatives

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry
Presented here is the design, synthesis, and study of a variety of novel hydrogen-bonding-capable π-conjugated N-heteroacenes, 1,4-dihydropyrazino[2,3-b]quinoxaline-2,3-diones (DPQDs).
