Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Exploring structure-property relationships of silver 4-(phenylethynyl)pyridine complexes [PDF]
Silver(salts demonstrate a strong preference for forming linear complexes when reacted with 4-(phenylethynyl)-pyridine (pep). The packing of these complexes was found to be strongly influenced by the counteranions, namely PF6-,BF4-, NO2-, NO3-, MeCO2 ...

Structure–Property Relationships in Transition Metal Dichalcogenide Bilayers under Biaxial Strains
This paper reports a Density Functional Theory (DFT) investigation of the electron density and optoelectronic properties of two-dimensional (2D) MX2 (M = Mo, W and X = S, Se, Te) subjected to biaxial strains.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

STRUCTURE-PROPERTY RELATIONSHIPS OF HIERARCHICAL POLYMER MATERIALS [PDF]
Structure-property relationships are central to the analysis and understanding of material systems. The exploration of such relationships for the known material systems and further creating new material systems are essential to solve the existing ...

Uncovering structure-property relationships of materials by subgroup discovery
Subgroup discovery (SGD) is presented here as a data-mining approach to help find interpretable local patterns, correlations, and descriptors of a target property in materials-science data.

Structural property relationships in conjugated polymers
The synthesis of a series of PPV derivative polymers by the Wittig-Homer reaction is described. The structure of each polymer is varied and the effects of these variations on the optical properties is explored. The effects of alkyloxy side chains is observed between the PPV derivatives Poly(-p-phenylvinylene-co-2,5-bis-octyloxy phenylvinylene.) PPV-OPV

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Glass-transition-, melting-, and decomposition temperatures of tailored polyacrylates and polymethacrylates: General trends and structure-property relationships [PDF]
The glass-transition-, melting, and onset decomposition temperatures of a series of tailored polymethacrylates and polyacrylates are systematically investigated. Application fields of the investigated polymers include coatings, adhesives, textile, paper,

Exploring crystal structure–physical property relationships with pressure
From its conception, X-ray crystallography has provided a unique understanding of the structure, bonding and electronic state of materials, which, in turn, unlocks a means of examining the properties and function of crystalline systems.
