Deep Variational and Structural Hashing

IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, 2020
In this paper, we propose a deep variational and structural hashing (DVStH) method to learn compact binary codes for multimedia retrieval. Unlike most existing deep hashing methods which use a series of convolution and fully-connected layers to learn binary features, we develop a probabilistic framework to infer latent feature representation inside the

Monodromy of Variations of Hodge Structure

Acta Applicandae Mathematica, 2003
The \(k\)th primitive cohomology group \(H^k_{\text{prim}}(X)\) of a smooth projective variety \(X\) is known to carry a weight \(k\) polarized rational Hodge structure. For a family of those over a smooth connected base manifold \(S\), the cohomology groups glue together to a local system on \(S\).

Variations of sphenoid and related structures

European Radiology, 2000
The aim of this study was to delineate the precise relationship between the sphenoid sinus and internal carotid artery and the optic nerve, as well as to assess incidence of the anatomic variations of these structures. A review of 92 paranasal sinus tomographic scans was made for anatomic variations of the sphenoid sinus and related bony and ...

The Variational Structure of Gradient Extremals

Journal of Chemical Theory and Computation, 2012
The gradient extremals can be taken as a representation of reaction paths. We prove that this type of curve possesses a variational nature. We report the conditions such that these curves have the character of a minimal curve. Finally we discuss the relations between the points of these curves being turning points with respect to other special points ...

Structural Variations of Potassium Aryloxides

Inorganic Chemistry, 2003
A series of potassium aryloxides (KOAr) were isolated from the reaction of a potassium amide (KN(SiMe(3))(2)) and the desired substituted phenoxide (oMP, 2-methyl; oPP, 2-iso-propyl; oBP, 2-tert-butyl; DMP, 2,6-di-methyl; DIP, 2,6-di-iso-propyl; DBP, 2,6-di-tert-butyl) in tetrahydrofuran (THF) or pyridine (py) as the following: [([K(mu(4)-oMP)(THF)][K ...

Structural Variation of the Human Genome

Annual Review of Genomics and Human Genetics, 2006
There is growing appreciation that the human genome contains significant numbers of structural rearrangements, such as insertions, deletions, inversions, and large tandem repeats. Recent studies have defined approximately 5% of the human genome as structurally variant in the normal population, involving more than 800 independent genes.

Structural Variation in Subtelomeres

2011
Subtelomeres are an incredibly dynamic part of the human genome located at the ends of chromosomes just proximal to telomere repeats. Although subtelomeric variation contributes to normal polymorphism in the human genome and is a by-product of rapid evolution in these regions, rearrangements in subtelomeres can also cause intellectual disabilities and ...

Genomic structural variation and schizophrenia

Current Psychiatry Reports, 2008
It has recently been demonstrated that a large amount of structural variation exists in the human genome. Since 2004, when two landmark studies reported polymorphic levels of copy number variation in phenotypically normal individuals, our understanding of genome-wide levels of copy number variation has grown.

Structural Variation in PWWP Domains

Journal of Molecular Biology, 2003
The PWWP domain is a ubiquitous eukaryotic protein module characterised by a region of sequence similarity of approximately 80 amino acids containing a highly conserved PWWP motif. It is frequently found in proteins associated with chromatin. We have determined the structure of a PWWP domain from the S. pombe protein SPBC215.07c using NMR spectroscopy.
