Hematopoietic (stem) cells—The elixir of life?
The aging of HSCs (hematopoietic stem cells) and the blood system leads to the decline of other organs. Rejuvenating aged HSCs improves the function of the blood system, slowing the aging of the heart, kidney, brain, and liver, and the occurrence of age‐related diseases.

On the morphology of the scattering medium as seen by MST/ST radars [PDF]
Much is learned about the morphology of the small scale structures of the atmosphere from analysis of echoes observed by MST radars. The use of physical models enables a synthesis of diverse observations.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

A Cross-State Comparison of Income Tax Structures [PDF]
The following table compares the basic structure of Georgia's income tax with 11 other states. (The comparison states are Georgia's border states plus 6 other states chosen to be similar to Georgia and to reflect each region of the country.

Bifidobacterium bifidum establishes symbiosis with infants by metabolizing lacto‐N‐biose I (LNB) from human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). The extracellular multidomain enzyme LnbB drives this process, releasing LNB via its catalytic glycoside hydrolase family 20 (GH20) lacto‐N‐biosidase domain.

COMPARISON OF PAVEMENT STRUCTURES IN TUNNELS
Tunnels pose many fire risks. It is difficult to fight fires in tunnels due to their limited accessibility, the quantity of smoke, and high thermal radiation. Temperatures in tunnel fires can reach 1000 °C, and these fires can spread quickly and persist for long periods, the longest recorded in Europe lasting 53 h.

Molecular bases of circadian magnesium rhythms across eukaryotes
Circadian rhythms in intracellular [Mg2+] exist across eukaryotic kingdoms. Central roles for Mg2+ in metabolism suggest that Mg2+ rhythms could regulate daily cellular energy and metabolism. In this Perspective paper, we propose that ancestral prokaryotic transport proteins could be responsible for mediating Mg2+ rhythms and posit a feedback model ...
