A Hybrid Structure Learning Algorithm for Bayesian Network Using Experts’ Knowledge
Bayesian network structure learning from data has been proved to be a NP-hard (Non-deterministic Polynomial-hard) problem. An effective method of improving the accuracy of Bayesian network structure is using experts’ knowledge instead of only using

ABSTRACT Objective Peripheral neuropathies contribute to patient disability but may be diagnosed late or missed altogether due to late referral, limitation of current diagnostic methods and lack of specialized testing facilities. To address this clinical gap, we developed NeuropathAI, an interpretable deep learning–based multiclass classification ...

Lessons Learned From a Delayed‐Start Trial of Modafinil for Freezing of Gait in Parkinson's Disease
ABSTRACT Objective Freezing of gait (FOG) in people with Parkinson's disease (PwPD) is debilitating and has limited treatments. Modafinil modulates beta/gamma band activity in the pedunculopontine nucleus (PPN), like PPN deep brain stimulation. We therefore tested the hypothesis that Modafinil would improve FOG in PwPD.

ABSTRACT Objective People with epilepsy (PWE) may experience cognitive deficits but fail to undergo formal evaluation. This study compares cognitive status between PWE and healthy controls in the West African Republic of Guinea. Methods A cross‐sectional, case–control study was conducted in sequential recruitment phases (July 2024–July 2025) at Ignace ...

ABSTRACT Objective Super‐Refractory Status Epilepticus (SRSE) is a rare, life‐threatening neurological emergency with unclear etiology in many cases. Mitochondrial dysfunction, often due to disease‐causing genetic variants, is increasingly recognized as a cause, with each gene producing distinct pathophysiological mechanisms.

Optimization of Active Learning Strategies for Causal Network Structure
Causal structure learning is one of the major fields in causal inference. Only the Markov equivalence class (MEC) can be learned from observational data; to fully orient unoriented edges, experimental data need to be introduced from external intervention

Adult‐Onset Subacute Sclerosing Panencephalitis Presenting With Subacute Cognitive Deficits
ABSTRACT We describe the case of a 41‐year‐old man diagnosed with adult‐onset subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (SSPE). The patient presented with subacute progressive cognitive deficits and a neuropsychological profile indicating predominant frontoparietal dysfunction. MRI showed only mild parietal‐predominant cerebral atrophy.

A New Algorithm for Learning Large Bayesian Network Structure From Discrete Data
Learning the structure of Bayesian networks (BNs) from high dimensional discrete data is common nowadays but a challenging task, due to the large parameter space, the acyclicity constraint placed on the graphical structures and the difficulty in ...

Structured Apprenticeship Learning [PDF]
We propose a graph-based algorithm for apprenticeship learning when the reward features are noisy. Previous apprenticeship learning techniques learn a reward function by using only local state features. This can be a limitation in practice, as often some features are misspecified or subject to measurement noise.

Applying an Ethical Lens to the Treatment of People With Multiple Sclerosis
ABSTRACT The practice of neurology requires an understanding of clinical ethics for decision‐making. In multiple sclerosis (MS) care, there are a wide range of ethical considerations that may arise. These involve shared decision‐making around selection of a disease‐modifying therapy (DMT), risks and benefits of well‐studied medications in comparison to
