Optimizing the structure of acene clusters

open access: yesThe Journal of Chemical Physics, 2023
We present a study of the potential energy surface of anthracene, tetracene, and pentacene clusters with up to 30 molecules. We have applied the basin-hopping Monte Carlo algorithm to clusters of acene molecules in order to find their lowest energy states. The acene molecules are described by the polymer-consistent force field–interface force field. We

Idempotent Structures in Optimization [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Sciences, 2001
This survey may be considered as an abridged version of the monographs [\textit{V. N. Kolokoltsov} and \textit{V. P. Maslov}, ``Idempotent analysis and its applications to the optimal control'' (in Russian) (1994; Zbl 0857.49022); ``Idempotent analysis and its applications'' (English translation) (1998; Zbl 0941.93001)] updated with some of the more ...

The Research and Mechanism of Extracting Vitamin B6 Using Aqueous Two-Phase Systems

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry, 2020
The aim of this work is to investigate the quaternary systems which contain (polyethylene glycol/isopropyl alcohol) + ethanol + salt (Na2SO4/Na2CO3) + water to understand their liquid-liquid equilibrium (LLE) and salting-out ability and apply them to ...

Structurally optimized shells

open access: yesCoRR, 2019
Shells, i.e., objects made of a thin layer of material following a surface, are among the most common structures in use. They are highly efficient, in terms of material required to maintain strength, but also prone to deformation and failure. We introduce an efficient method for reinforcing shells, that is, adding material to the shell to increase its ...

Structure and Optimization of Checkpoint Inhibitors [PDF]

open access: yesCancers, 2019
With the advent of checkpoint inhibitor treatment for various cancer types, the optimization of drug selection, pharmacokinetics and biomarker assays is an urgent and as yet unresolved dilemma for clinicians, pharmaceutical companies and researchers.

YOLO-Extract: Improved YOLOv5 for Aircraft Object Detection in Remote Sensing Images

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
Compared with natural images, remote sensing targets have small and dense target shapes as well as complex target backgrounds. As a result, insufficient detection accuracy and target location cannot be accurately identified.

A Tutorial on Structural Optimization

open access: yesCoRR, 2022
Structural optimization is a useful and interesting tool. Unfortunately, it can be hard for new researchers to get started on the topic because existing tutorials assume the reader has substantial domain knowledge. They obscure the fact that structural optimization is really quite simple, elegant, and easy to implement.
