Haunting Interruptions: Race, Infrastructural Violence, and Spatial Memory in Ferguson, Missouri, United States

open access: yesAntipode, Volume 58, Issue 2, March 2026.
ABSTRACT This article engages race, infrastructural violence, and spatial memory in Ferguson, Missouri—the St. Louis suburb where police killed 18‐year‐old Michael Brown, Jr. in August 2014. It examines Black communities' use of blockades, space‐based protests, and infrastructural disruption in Ferguson before and after the teenager's execution.

When Calves Get Vulnerable, Ocelots (Leopardus pardalis) Get Bold: A Camera Trap Record of Opportunistic Foraging in a Fragmented Landscape

open access: yesBiotropica, Volume 58, Issue 2, March 2026.
We report the first confirmed record of an ocelot (Leopardus pardalis) dragging a newborn calf in a degraded forest fragment of southeastern Brazil. Using camera trap records, we reveal an opportunistic foraging event involving a vulnerable domestic prey within a highly fragmented landscape.

Securing the Unseen: A Comprehensive Exploration Review of AI‐Powered Models for Zero‐Day Attack Detection

open access: yesExpert Systems, Volume 43, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Zero‐day exploits remain challenging to detect because they often appear in unknown distributions of signatures and rules. The article entails a systematic review and cross‐sectional synthesis of four fundamental model families for identifying zero‐day intrusions, namely, convolutional neural networks (CNN), deep neural networks (DNN ...

Fatigue Lifetime Assessment of HFMI‐Treated Welded Joints According to the Peak Stress Method

open access: yesFatigue &Fracture of Engineering Materials &Structures, Volume 49, Issue 3, Page 790-819, March 2026.
ABSTRACT High‐frequency mechanical impact (HFMI) is an effective post‐weld treatment that enhances fatigue strength by inducing compressive residual stresses, localized strain hardening, and increasing weld toe radii. The peak stress method (PSM) was recently extended to evaluate the fatigue strength of HFMI‐treated steel joints under uniaxial loading ...
