Giant Nonequilibrium Valley Control via Spin‐Selective Hot‐Carrier Transfer in an Antiferromagnetic van der Waals Stack

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Spin‐selective hot‐carrier transfer across CrSBr/WSe2/CrSBr interfaces couples the continuously tunable magnetic configuration of antiferromagnetic CrSBr to the valley degrees of freedom of monolayer WSe2, enabling giant nonequilibrium valley control and magnetic‐state‐dependent reversal of circularly polarized emission.

Effect of stump size and timing of stump harvesting on ground disturbance and root breakage diameter

open access: yesSilva Fennica, 2015
Stump wood is a possible alternative to fossil fuel. Its harvesting, however, disturbs the ground and this has not yet been quantified at stump level. Such disturbance is likely to be dependent on stump size, type of soil and timing of stump harvesting ...

Tamper‐Responsive Physical Unclonable Functions via Graphene‐Interlayered Block Copolymer Random Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Self‐invalidating multilayer physical unclonable functions (PUFs) integrate fingerprint‐like metal nanopattern bilayers from block copolymer templates with highly reactive reduced graphene oxide (rGO) interlayers. This tamper‐responsive architecture blocks all unauthorized physical and chemical replication attempts while autonomously deactivating ...

Fiber‐Format Flexible Linear Electrostatic Motors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A flexible coaxial fibre‐format electrostatic motor enables backdrivable and reversible linear actuation with high force density and functionality under bending, offering a scalable actuation platform for soft and wearable robotics. ABSTRACT Linear motion is fundamental to robotics, yet existing solutions are either rigid electromagnetic motors or ...

Lengthening of a below knee amputation stump with Ilizarov technique in a patient with a mangled leg

open access: yesChinese Journal of Traumatology, 2019
A below knee amputation (BKA) requires sufficient stump length for the fitting of a modern prosthesis. In cases of trauma where the levels of injury are unpredictable, achieving sufficient stump length can be a challenge.

Left upper lobectomy can be a risk factor for thrombosis in the pulmonary vein stump

open access: yesJournal of Cardiothoracic Surgery, 2014
BackgroundThrombosis in the left upper pulmonary vein stump after left upper lobectomy is a very rare but important complication because it occurs in the systemic circulation system.

Reactivity‐Guided Janus Graphene With Asymmetric Interfacial Electrostatics for Tunable Charge Transport

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Stepwise dual‐side functionalization creates covalent Janus graphene with chemically and electrostatically asymmetric interfaces. The resulting nonadditive surface‐potential response and pronounced charge‐transport modulation demonstrate a versatile route for tailoring the electronic properties of graphene.
