Regular approximation of singular Sturm–Liouville problems with eigenparameter dependent boundary conditions

open access: yesBoundary Value Problems, 2020
In this paper we consider singular Sturm–Liouville problems with eigenparameter dependent boundary conditions and two singular endpoints. The spectrum of such problems can be approximated by those of the inherited restriction operators constructed.

Trace regularization problem for a fourth‐order differential operator on separable Banach space

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, Volume 48, Issue 4, Page 4578-4591, 15 March 2025.
In this study, we employ new results on the semi‐inner product, the adjoint operator, and the Schatten class of operators on a separable Banach space, which allow us to investigate a differential operator with unbounded operator‐valued coefficients. Specifically, we derive an asymptotic formula for the second regularized trace based on the asymptotic ...

Impact of Temperature Variability on the Caputo Fractional Malaria Model

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
This study aims to analyze the age related characteristics of malaria in human host by exploring Caputo fractional order models with temperature variability, that is looked into the combined effects of fractional order and temperature variability on malaria dynamics.

Space versus energy oscillations of Prufer phases for matrix Sturm-Liouville and Jacobi operators

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2020
This note considers Sturm oscillation theory for regular matrix Sturm-Liouville operators on finite intervals and for matrix Jacobi operators. The number of space oscillations of the eigenvalues of the matrix Prufer phases at a given energy, defined ...

Controllability and Observability of Nonautonomous Riesz-Spectral Systems

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2018
There are many industrial and biological reaction diffusion systems which involve the time-varying features where certain parameters of the system change during the process.

Theory of discrete fractional Sturm–Liouville equations and visual results

open access: yesAIMS Mathematics, 2019
In this article, we study discrete fractional Sturm-Liouville (DFSL) operators within Riemann-Liouville and Grünwald-Letnikov fractional operators with both delta and nabla operators.

Examining the Feasibility of the Sturm–Liouville Theory for Ross Recovery

open access: yesMathematics, 2020
Recent studies have suggested that it is feasible to recover a physical measure from a risk-neutral measure. Given a market state variable modeled as a Markov process, the key concept is to extract a unique positive eigenfunction of the generator of the ...

Non-trivial solutions for two-point boundary-value problems of fourth-order Sturm-Liouville type equations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2012
Using critical point theory due to Bonanno [3], we prove the existence of at least one non-trivial solution for a class of two-point boundary-value problems for fourth-order Sturm-Liouville type equations.

Localised gravity and resolved braneworlds

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
Deriving an effective massless field theory for fluctuations about a braneworld spacetime requires analysis of the transverse-space-wavefunction’s second-order differential equation. There can be two strikingly different types of effective theory.
