The Dinarides (western Balkan Peninsula) are famous as global hotspot of subterranean biodiversity. Regarding terrestrial isopods it refers to the family Trichoniscidae, which is presented with 11 troglobitic genera and about 40 species, endemic for the region.

Cordioniscus antiparosi n. sp. is described from a cave on the island of Antiparos. This is the fourth species of the genus in Greece. The new species is similar to C. beroni Vandel from Crete.
